The last few weeks haven't exactly left me feeling particularly patriotic, which might explain why I spent most of the day watching kdramas.

Sword and Petal (also being translated with interchangeable "blade," "knife," "flower" and optional "the"-s) is a sageuk drama that started airing this week. The plot is set in Goguryeo, inspired by General ( Read more... )

I'm interested in Sword and Petal, but haven't watched it yet. I'm in the mood for a really great sageuk drama, but I'm not sure if this is it. It looks stunning and I like the actors and actresses. However, I'm not sure if I can do a revenge-sageuk at the moment. I plan on keeping an eye on the drama, though.

Yeah, even with those of us who are enjoying it, it' kind of "I'm not sure what to make of this, but I like it" so far. I just hope it doesn't end up too long, because this doesn't strike me as something that could manage more than 14-16 episodes, though they'll probably make it at least 20. i'm not sure I've seen responses to a sageuk so divided with the very first episodes before, though.

I don't know if you've watched any of it, but I'm up to episode 24 of Gu Family Book now, and still really enjoying it. (And possibly a bit overly invested in certain parts.)

I've tried to look up how long it will be, but I just cant find info on it. Since it is a sageuk, I'm guessing 20, 24, or 50 episodes. Though, from what I've seen and heard - I really don't think it could do more than 24 without dragging.

I have watched all of Gu Family Book, though I never posted on it. It was enjoyable, even if I didn't love the ending. (Felt it was a bit rushed and almost like they were trying to set up a second season/film)
