Agatha Christie's Marple 6.1: "A Caribbean Mystery": Pretty good adaptation overall. Once I got used to the extreme liberties this series takes (my favorite in this one when it jut randomly introduces Ian Fleming in a bit role), it became pretty near and dear to me. I am a bit confused, though, as Nemesis, whose plot is largely dependent on the ( Read more... )

I kept waiting for Tahmoh's character being British to actually ADD something to the character or be pertinent but, IMO, there was nothing about the character that NEEDED to be British, and I think it would have been way more interesting for someone of Tahmoh's actual ethnic background to have reached his position.

I missed out on most of SPN's female deaths, but I've heard the horror stories. Honestly, based on the creators and SFF TV in general, the show's treatment of POC and women in general has been fgairly miraculous. I also think it's noteworthy that, except for Emma and Maggie, the show has largely introduced female characters and sent them off to do their thing, sometimes recurring (and I REALLY hope they run into Nora's sister next season and she and Charlie become frenemies) whereas most male characters have been created to fill a function for a few episodes and then die.

I still care about Jason and sometimes Miles, and have high hopes for the show doing more with Grace and Priscilla next season.

Same. I'm always AMAZED at Revolution's treatment of POC, largely because I'm expecting nothing.

I feel like Revolution does have SPN's annoying tendancy to kill off all the secondary characters, but unlike SPN it has more main cast and the deaths are a lot more even genderwise.

The thing that annoys me about Revolution, is that it's like five steps away from being FLAWLESS television, and I can see which five steps, but they just don't take them.

I'm very tentatively watching next season. I'm hopeful for more Grace and Priscilla next season, but towards the end of last season I was largely in it for Charlie and Nora and with Nora gone I'm not sure I'm going to be as attached to it as I used to be.
