Both Revolution and Beauty and the Beast were confirmed for renewals this week, and since Elementary was renewed a while back, all 3 new fall shows that I picked up and am still watching are renewed. This is a first for me.

Beauty and the Beast 1.18-1.19:

spoilers )

tv: person of interest, tv: elementary, tv: continuum, tv: defiance, tv: beauty and the beast, tv: foyle's war, tv: revolution

Continuum always needs more Sonja.

Regarding Defiance, I also hoped to ship Julie Benz and Mia Kirshner, but Jaime Murray is my favourite and she plays her character perfectly, as usual. <3

I think that's the reaction most are having to "oh, you got all hopeful when the madam brought the major lunch and gave her a cheek smooch? WE'LL SHOW YOU!" (Except not really re: attitude, because I think that part of that connection was to reduce the perception of slutshaming in that society.)

Yes, I like that being the brothel's owner is a perfectly respectable position in this town.

I think, though I could be wrong, that Travis isn't completely human on the inside--I think that's why Sonya was so put out that she didn't have more bullets (and really I expected Lexa Doig to remember that HEADSHOTS are always the answer). I wonder if this screws with Julian's future tho? On the one hand this may have been why Kagami told her to kill Travis--he knows he survives and he goes off to jail with Julian and he keeps Julian from dying (since the kid is just not tough at all). On the other this may have not been preseen and thus changes how the future shakes down.

Damn you time travel mechanics.

I'm honestly beginning to wonder if Kiera's husband is connected to either Alec or Mr. Esher/time travel mercs or what. My sister thinks I'm overthinking it, but he was surprised that Kiera was at the execution, he looked accusatory towards Old Alec's OMACskyship thing. Became LESS happy with Kiera being a Protector (even though he apparently originally supported the idea). Something is up there ( ... )

I think Kiera's husband is DEFINITELY involved somehow. (I also suspect he's going to end up being descended from someone we know.)

Stephanie Leonidas plays Irisa in Defiance. Her best known other role is probably Mirrormask.

Stahma (I think that's how it's spelled is being called Lady Macbeth by a lot, and while I see the comparison, I'm not sure I agree? A lot of her manipulations seem to be designed to talk Datak into a lesser evil by showing him the benefits of not killing everyone who annoys him.

I can appropriately comment on it, and Elementary failed hard with the obesity issue, which is disappointing, but meh. I just figure whoever wrote the episode wasn't as good as the usual writers (I hope, I should check this out).

Also I miss Bell when he is not around!

Yeah, I mostly cringed through it. (I'm also very iffy on Henry VIII and how that was used, and suspect the writers thought they were being clever as he's also often viewed as a misogynist. Which, granted, IMO, he was, but most people don't bother to learn that he actually only had 1/3 of his wives [only, I say...] beheaded and seem to think he got married then lopped off your head if you didn't pop a boy out a year later.)

aside from the "what about the poor parents!" line, I thought they handled the rape plot about as well as that plot could have been handled (though I feel it was a "What's the most vile thing we can think of?" decision, which is typically a shortcut) but a lot of the plot made me twitchy, even though I enjoyed the episode overall.
