Yes. All of this yes. I will scream the praises of these books to anyone who will listen and even to people who will only half listen. They are just so amazing.

I've read the firtss Incryptid book, and the second isn't out until March, and it was fun. The story is MUCH lighter than the Toby books but I enjoyed the first one for a light hearted read and I will absolutely check out the second.

I would be interested in Incryptid just for the cover if I hadn't read the October Daye books first. "Oh hi there, I'm your heroine, and I like to lounge around on rooftops with a gun and my clubhopping clothes. LOOK I HAVE THINGS TO DO AFTER I SHOOT SOMEONE, OK?"

what an accurate description of the book. HAVE YOU READ IT YET? No seriously, Verity is AWESOME for that reason alone.

Seconding the Incryptid endorsement as fun fluff. I enjoyed the read, but ended up giving it away to a friend. The characters and plot never really gelled for me, although there were some very funny bits. (The talking mice who worship the main character's family as gods were pretty hilarious.)

Sadly, I think that was one of the books I bounced really hard off of. But I am ridiculously over-picky about my UF, and first person rarely does it for me (I started with Laurel Hamilton's Anita Blake. It's hard not to view all of them as just another Anita)
