Only one of which I actually watched in the last month, I think.

The Fall: So, the next time I watch a movie with really bright colors, exceptionally creative costumes, random extreme crack and it's extremely enjoyable at first glance then increasingly iffy the more you think about it, I'm just going to assume it's a Tarsem Singh movie. "The Fall" is actually the only Tarsem Singh movie I'm willing to watch. *gg* I watched it for Lee Pace (but love it for a lot of more reasons) and wasn't really interested in what the director did next.

@ Ip Man
I own the first film, but am still reluctant to watch the second one, because I liked the first one, because the action and the story as so well balanced.

@ Red Cliff
I only watched the first part and only remember Kaneshiro Takeshi gazing off into the distaance all the time and this really spectacular and awesome battle where they kept riding in big circles in order to confuse the enemy. Well, maybe I'll give the second part a chance. *gg*

"The Romance of Three Kingdoms" is really one of those stories I so want to read.

The Cell was, IMO, visually stunning and inventive, but a bit out there and apparently wanted me to sympathize somewhat with the serial killer who tortured and "purified" women before murdering them. (Granted, the sympathy was more for his Tragic Childhood and not meant to distract from his adult actions, but...) I thought Mirror Mirror was fun but could have been better. I liked Snow White a lot and the dwarves, and loved the visuals, but the "feminist fixit" aspect was too heavy handed at times(the "she just needs to become kickass!" mentality, though there were other parts I liked), which I wouldn't have minded if it weren't for the fact that a lot of the funny parts...weren't, IMO. I, too, am quite fond of Lee Pace. Mostly for Pushing Daisies and Miss Pettigrew Lives for A Day.

I think the second Ip Man was worth watching. Most of the interesting stuff with the women in Red Cliff was in the second half.

Okay, you definitely sold me on Red Cliff 2. :o)

@ Mirror Mirror
This is one of those movies where I'm just not interested *gg*

@ Lee Pace
Btw, have you seen "Wonderfalls"? One of the strangest tv shows I've ever seen and simply fantastic.

I thought Stewart was pretty good in The Runaways. I think it's the only thing I've ever seen her in, actually.

I've seen her in The Runaways and Snow White and the Huntsman, and liked her a lot in both, and thought she played both roles very differently.

I had a crush on kstew in runaways she was so badass and hot *__* and she really channeled the real Joan Jett who was really revolutionary for her time (imo she still is. as one of the few female rockers to get any respect and recognition in mainstream rock publications and the media) but esp in the 70's. and I enjoyed seeing a movie about women behaving badly that wasnt strictly about them sleeping around as if thats the worst a woman can do or something. basically it was about youthful rebellion but with girls for a change. I didnt like how they demonized Lita Ford tho. She was a good musician. I guess they needed an antagonist...but I didnt like it. I loved the movie but I do wish it was more about the Runaways and less about Cherie specifically, since she was mostly a troubled soul not cut out for a rock lifestyle while the other girls were serious musicians and Joan ofc went on to become very famous and successful for decades to come. So its like, I wanted a movie about THAT. But I did enjoy the movie I did get. and I felt really ( ... )
