I have no fear for Victoria (though, I think poor Lydia is gone) and I'm excited about faux!Manda's return, even under these ridiculous circumstances. SO SO excited that my crack theory about Amanda's mother being alive is true and I can't wait to find out more about her...But the finale itself was not so great.
Pretty much. Though I wasn't happy about Emily's mother being alive, or Amanda being back, because they were in clichéd soap opera plots. I feel like I can like Amanda, but the show reminds med that I'm supposed to be getting catfight vibes off her and Emily, so I can't enjoy her as much as I would otherwise.
If the show wants me to get catfight vibes from the Emandas (which is entirely possible), it's really going at it the wrong way. I agree about her mother being alive being a soap opera-ish plot, but I've assumed it most of the season, and there really aren't enough mother/daughter plotlines on TV.
I get the vibes due to them both wanting Jack, and the way I feel the show is pushing Emily/Jack while introducing a pregnant Amanda as the obstacle, which was done sans pregnancy way back when Amanda was just introduced and started to like Jack. Maybe I assume too much, but I don't expect good things to come from the twist the Emily/Jack/Amanda triangle just took.
I would actually mind her mother being alive less if I hadn't expected it, even with it being cliché either way.
