I used to just be annoyed by referring to real women and Barbies, but ever since TVD decided it was cute and funny to have a misogynistic serial rapist label one of his victims "Vampire Barbie" as an insult and make it her official nickname, I've lost all tolerance. (Though, like Diane calling Sara "Insurance Barbie" or whatever I label it more "unrecognized internalized misogyny by writers who do well with these things when they recognize them" than the TVD extreme on the other end. (I do agree that she has the general look people tend to associate with Barbies, but with actual healthy human proportions, but still!)
I've never been big onthe Secret Baby plot, but this is probably the best handling of this type of plot that I've seen.
