Aside from 2 shows deciding to do really annoying things in their last 5 minutes (actually, pretty much the same annoying thing...) this was a good week of TV for me.

Call the Midwife: Season 1: CtM is a six-episode season (everything is wrapped up, but it was renewed for a second season) about midwives and nuns in London's East End in the 1950s. ( Read more... )

tv: ringer, tv: once upon a time, tv: call the midwife, tv: nikita, tv: miss fisher's murder mysteries, tv: lost girl

Not even for lemur references can I bring myself to watch Once... again, but that's still a pretty awesome line.

Much as I enjoy the show (well, more often than not...I really is a lesser version of 10th Kingdom for me, despite having more women) it definitely hasn't lived up to expectations, though this episode was probably the one closest to what I was hoping for from it that it's achieved.

UGH, Lost Girl! I still haven't watched that episode yet because I was spoiled for the Nadia thing and it just pushes all of my DNW buttons. Especially since there were probably some other options. Like, idk, putting her back into that coma! Or just locking her pretty little butt up until Lauren could find an actual cure or whatever...idk, maybe they explained in the episode why those weren't options but it just feels like a slap in the face after how well they handled the Kiara thing ( ... )

What made Nadia's death so annoying was that it WAS so unnecessary, and it was like Bo and Lauren forgot every bit of intelligence and creativity and characterization that they have because killing her was the most dramatic option.

I disliked Birkoff a lot in season 1, but he's grown on me this season, until this episode.

That's pretty much what I feared. I'll watch it eventually, but I need more time to get used to the idea of Nadia's pointless death.

Same. I couldn't stand him in season 1 but I actually thought he was pretty decent this season up until this episode. Especially in the episode from my icon.

I figured Carla was going to die eventually, but I was really hoping it wouldn't be so soon. I wanted to know more about her vision for Division - I'm still not entirely sure what it was supposed to be before Amanda supposedly corrupted it. Were they still turning people into assassins and she just thought it was Amanda who made them for hire? Or did Carla envision another purpose for the recruits entirely. I also wanted to see her come to realize just how bad Percy was - and still want to save Division. I have no problem with that aspect of her personality, even though I know some people don't like her being a 'crazy idealist'. I'm OK with that because, whether the show remembers it or not, Michael used to feel the same way, so I think they've kind of validated that? And what I'm hoping is that they validate it in the future. That Carla has planted the seeds. I kind of feel like they could be heading towards something in the future where they realize that Division is a bell that can't be unrung, so to speak. That even if ( ... )

I think Carla thought it was going to be what most of the lower-level agents and trainees think (or so we were told in S1): that it's along the lines of a does-not-officially-exist version of the CIA that takes care of the dirtier stuff and the agents get to live and be productive even if they no longer official exist under their real identities ( ... )

Most of the plot developmwnt has been Fairy Tale Land stuff lately. Episode 14 was almost pure filler, but I enjoyed episode 13 a lot. Episode 12 is really popular in fandom but I didn't care for it personally. It did have a few important plot bits though.

But episode 13 and 15 are the first time I've really really enjoyed it in a while...7-12 had some good points for me, but were also annoying in a lot of ways and I vasically watched because it's fairy tales and I like Emma, Snow and Ruby a lot. (I also like Regina but am annoyed by how the narrative is making her increasingly one-not evil.) Well, and I like making icons of the show.
