Pan Am through 1.4: Followup episodes have, I think, been stronger than the pilot. It’s still much lighter than I tend to prefer my period dramas, but the serious bits that it has had so far have been handled well. That said, while it’s been pretty good at saying “no, that’s sexist” so far, it’s clearly going to shy away from any other issues ( ( Read more... )

ITA with all your Ringer thoughts, especially the HATEHATEHATE for Henry and the DNW regarding not!Logan + Juliet. Also, there's no way Gemma's dead. Though, I'm torn between thinking she faked her death to screw with Bridget/her husband or she found out that the real Siobhan was trying to kill her and faked her death so she could escape Siv's wrath.

I continue to enjoy Nikita every week but I have stayed far away from the fandom because I just knew there'd be something that would piss me off. The Cassandra thing would definitely fit the bill and ITA that I don't think the writers have ANY intention of putting Cassandra/Michael together.

I think the writers and both Maggie Q and Shane West are big on Nikita/Michael and not wanting triangles/third parties in that, and the writers seem to listen to the actors here. The way the episode played out seemed designed to discourage any potential fears of a triangle. I mean, usually, when the guy gets hugged by his ex in front of his SO, regardless of context (and I think this was pure gratitude/relief with no sexual or romantic intent on her part) he looks guilty or is all "I'm sorry," but Michael just mouthed "I love you" and Nikita didn't seem threatened or worried at all once they'd had their conversation about Cassandra. I think she may have been worried about Cassandra still having feelings for Michael, but not about Michael's end of things ( ... )

I don't think there's anything to worry about on either end, though I'm sure plenty of shippers will continue to do so. Michael just felt guilty and wanted to make sure Cassandra and her son were taken care of and Cassandra was just grateful Michael came into her life when he did and gave her a beautiful son.

That's why I'm leaning more toward 'faking her death to throw Siobhan off her trail' because in that case, it was kind of a life-saving measure and I could see her leaving behind her kids in order to ensure her survival. But who knows with this show? Maybe she got kidnapped by that mobster dude who's torturing poor Malcolm.

I hope we're not heading in that direction but a) it's the CW and b)PLL is still fresh in my mind, though I still have to catch up on season 2.

Alex ALWAYS has a love interest even though she has 5000 other things always going on and a past of a very DARK sexual nature that the writers completely ignoreUGH, that bugs me to no end! I can see how Alex would've maybe not wanted to talk about it with Amanda ( ... )

Every time there's any sort of even vaguely romantic scene with Alexand a guy, I want to screech "She doesn't need a boyfriend, she needs THERAPY!" Though, even though we as viewer pinged "intended love interest" the second he showed up, at least it isn't insta-crush on either side, like with Alex/Nathan and Tom-to-Alex.

With Juliet, I think we're actually headed to Juliet developing a crush and either being gently turned down, or learning he has an SO? I mean, her crushing on him makes complete sense: she's in a new and unfamiliar environment where everyone but him is against her (so far) and he's young, attractive, nice, and tries to help her. It's only a problem if it goes both ways.

I know I should laugh myself silly over Ringer, but I can't help it, I'm riveted. It's sort of like Lost was for me: I don't even try to theorize, I just hang on for dear life as the ride careens crazily forward.

It's ok, I'll come up with enough cracky theories for both of us.
