Wow, no kidding. I also find the angle of her head a bit off.

And the first cover is already lighter skinned than I really picture Nimira being.

Also, check this out - it's the original edition, followed by the later mass-market paperback. I assume both images are supposed to represent Cat.

I haven't read these yet, but the first especially has the look that I'm starting to think of as "Represents Exotic* But Is WHITE" that involves a lot of shadows that seem meant to imply darker skintone but when you take the shadows into account the skin is very light.

*Which, as we know, is anyone who isn't a white American or European.
