So, I'm still shunning Vampire Diaries until after the season finale so I can be properly judgmental all at once (Atually, while I am geerally a spoilerphobe, there are certain thinks people are advised to warn me of, and so between that and recent episodes of most, I'm kind of annoyed with all the US shows I'm following-including Mad Men, as ( Read more... )

it's nice to know certain things still have the ability to reduce me to nothing but an excitable, emo-wallowing 13-year-old

Heh. I was making noises during the Tyler/Caroline couch scene I'm pretty sure only a dog could hear.

See, watching the scenes without anything between their scenes, I was still on the NAKED AT HER DOORSTEP AND SHE MAGICALLY KNEW IT WAS HIM bit when we got there.

I feel this was wise of me.) but I was advised that Caroline was cradling Tyler's naked, agonized body again

I really liked that part, laying on his naked chest TO REST whilst him saying "Thank you, Caroline". It has been a while already, but I keep watching "Vampire diaries" mostly in fast forward to Caroline/Tyler parts. As far as the whole show is concerned, it has lost me somewhere along the way

It's basically turned into the exact opposite of season 1 at this point, and definitely not for the better. It's like I was explaining to dangermousie recently..It's a Stockholm show. It gets you addicted and then starts betraying you every 5 minutes AND YOU CANNOT ESCAPE.

He is so the damsel in distress in that relationship, and so uncomplicatedly grateful for being saved.

And then, of course, there is all the nakedness. They seemed pretty chill about it! I was having a thirteen year old seizure. ;)

Caroline certainly was pretty chill about the nakedness, given her reaction to his boxers the month before. (And his "I...did not know you were that reserved!") I figure she's probably used to his bare chest-Tyler strikes me as the sort who started using any excuse he could to go around shirtless in front of girls the second he had muscles, but the no-pants bit is new.

The Caroline/Tyler scenes made the episode for me. I find it amazing how two characters that I couldn't stand at the beginning of the series have turned not only into my favorites, but into my OTP for the series as well.

I've always liked Caroline, but Tyler's an interesting case for me, where I'm invested in and sympathetic with him all over the place, yet, don't know how much I actually LIKE him. (I blame his previous wannabe date-rape tendencies, though I don't think he ever actually DID, he just has issues with registering "No the first time.) But then, he, Stefan and Elijah are the only guys in this show who I actually want on my screen.

I really do like him. I'll be honest with you. I honestly can't remember any date-rape tendencies although that could be due to the fact that before he turned into a werewolf I barely paid any attention to him.

But then, he, Stefan and Elijah are the only guys in this show who I actually want on my screen.

I agree. I never warmed up to John or Alaric. NGL, I used to find Damon entertaining, but this season I've realized that even as he does all these horrible things to people, the show still tries to portray him as misunderstood. I HATE that.

IIRC, he was really aggressive with Amy early in the season (this may have been the full moon when Mason almost killed Stefan and Caroline) but I was mostly thinking of his behavior towards Vicky earlier in season one. There was a bit in I think the first episode where he has her pinned to a tree and she's telling him to back off and he won't (I forget if someone actually pulls him off her or just walks up and tells him to knock it off) and I think there may be another part where she rejects him and is walking off and he grabs her and starts trying to kiss her or something. (I may be mixing and combining his and Jeremy's actions here-they both tended to grab her and tell her it was time for sex ( ... )
