Oh, wow, once there was plot this was actually readable. In its way. Maybe. (I finished it in one day from sheer determination and little else to do. Actually, my main alternative was discussing Twilight with people who uncritically enjoy it and think Edward is sweet.)

I keep saying that Meyer missed an opportunity for a great joke in calling 'em vegetarians. "We're on a vegetarian diet. We only eat vegetarians."

(and don't bother pointing out that they eat mountain lions and stuff. My take works better than the original.)

I'm sure that the sparkles have a hypnotic effect, and that they just make it out of school without anyone noticing because the sparkles wipe their memory in the same vein as those doohickeys from MIB.
