Gothic Shoujo Crack

Dec 10, 2009 07:29

So, I’m reading a copy of Vampire Knight volume 8 for a review. Sadly, it seems to have gone from “creepy aspects too much for me, but interesting” to “creepy and boring.” But more importantly, I have decided to summarize my reactions to certain aspects of Gothic Shoujo Crack in Vampire Knight, Cantarella and Angel Sanctuary.

spoilers for all 3 )

shoujo, manga, manga: angel sanctuary, manga: vampire knight, manga: cantarella

Apparently, give me enough crack and I’ll go for anything short of “women are possessions.” Yeah, but that's about right. I donated all my Vampire Knight to the library because it was taking up room and I liked it but didn't think I wanted to own it, but now I might not even bothering catching up.

There's been a severe drop in quality since Vol 3.

Yeah, Vampire Knight definitely went downhill fast from the first few chapters.

Yeah. When I stopped it, I mostly liked it but was too creeped by Kaname/Yuki. That was...a severe drop in quality.

And unfortunately for VK, it only gets more disturbing (and not much more interesting) from there. I think I started losing interest when it hit me that "oh hell, so Kaname is supposed to be a valid love interest?!?!"

PASS.

I'm glad my regular reading stopped before then.

YES IT IS.

Uhm...you can scrape by there with the first few seasons of Buffy? (It wasn't so much with the licking.)
