Alice

Somewhat on a whim, I picked up a cheap Signet edition of Alice in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass the other day. It was only "somewhat" on a whim because I've recently felt the need to reread things I read when I was younger (whether or not I'll actually get around to it is another thing), and I don't think I've read that in its entirety ( Read more... )

between the two previews(hadn't heard of the syfy one until your post), i would rather watch the mini-series. although eventually i wouldn't mind seeing burton's take on the tale. o.o

Yeah. No one has really heard of the syfy one, I don't think. I mean, they have, but I don't think it's really being advertised much yet.

Syfy doesn't go in for advertising things with girls in the lead. That's not their target audience, and she doesn't lose her clothes enough.

Hmm...is that why I don't watch much recent US TV?

The SyFy one looks really interesting. And seeing that it's by the same director as Tinman is making me want to watch it even more.

I have an absurd fondness for Tin Man myself.

OMG, I did NOT know about that mini series. I am so watching that! I love Alice in wonderland. I think I've seen every major alice film ever, and a few not so major ones. I just love it like burning and cant explain why. But I suspect it has alot to do with how utterly bizarre it is. Still no alice version can top Jonathan Miller's film version. at least not until tim butron's film comes out. heh

Which is Miller's? (Not incredibly familiar with Alice films.)

...

Both excite me.

Then again, I like reimagining reimagined stories 83

As do I, even though they don't always work for me.

Both of those have me pretty excited. I love all the Alice references that are appearing all over the place!

As do I. The original Alice, I think, will be a bit too young for me to grab on to now, but that's still some world there.

yeah that was what I found. But I'm looking forward to being able to read the original Alice to my god-daughter and god-son.

Did you watch Warehouse 13? I loved the crazy psychotic Alice they had in that, and the song White Rabbit that they played!

Nope, haven't seen any of Warehouse 13, though I know some on the f-list have been watching it.
