Rectober 2015: Day 13 - Maybe I'm Not in This Fandom, But the Fics Are Awesome
It took me a while to compile and post this list, because I found out I actually don't read as many HP fics as I thought. I usually just check out some tags for my main ships and that's it. That was why making this list was a great challenge. It was fun.
I chose 24 ship fics and 8 gen/friendship fics. And, after looking at my list, who wants to guess who my favourite characters are? :D

Why I loved it: George tries very hard to concentrate on working in the shop, and still has to get used to the fact that Fred got married. He is worried, he has a hard time adjusting to the new situation, and because of that the things between him and Lee are a bit tense. Also, George has a crush on Lee and Fred is a great brother.

Why I loved it: Post-The War. Neville doesn't feel well, doesn't know how to handle being popular, especially since all he wants is to stay at home and wait until things calm down. He visits George's shop in search for a gift and it changed how he looked at some things. George and Neville help and support each other. Also, I love the friendship between Neville and Luna and between Neville and Ginny, and Ron being Ron and totally missing the fact that George and Neville started seeing each other. This is the fic that introduced me to this airing, so I have a soft spot for it.

Why I loved it: A lovely coffee shop!AU, that focuses on the development of Kingsley's relationship with Benjy. Also, Sirius and James work with Kingsley and it's hilarious. I love it.

Why I loved it: Another fic I have a huge soft spot for, mainly because I really like that it's about people appreciating Percy. Percy has to decide what it is that he wants and learns something he did not expect at all. I really want to hug Percy. Also, Kingsley is awesome and I like the appearances of some minor characters.

Why I loved it: I have a strange soft spot for that one, I have to admit. It's actually one of the first fics I thought of when I was compiling this list. I like Percy and Marcus' accidental meeting, their interactions, I like Percy helping Marcus decorate his flat for Christmas, it's nice.

Summary: From rampant speculation about his sexuality to emergency inter-continental travel in a wetsuit, Neville Longbottom has been through a lot since leaving Hogwarts. Percy Weasley has just happened to be there for most of it, much to Neville's dismay.
Why I loved it: This fic is very fun. Neville ends up meeting Percy more often than he ever expected, Percy is being his stubborn self, their relationship is complicated. Neville is so surprised that McGonagall offered him the job of a Herbology teacher, and he works hard to become a great teacher, I love it. Also, McGonagall is awesome, I want to hug Luna a lot, I like Nevill's interactions with Snape's portrait and it's great.

9. Title: Ben Folds's Series

Summary: Wherein book 7 is completely ignored because wars don't tend to happen so quickly; Percy Weasley runs a safehouse [because that's as close to administrative work as you can get in a war], and everyone gets a chance to play minor character bingo. Get your cards and markers ready!
Why I loved it: AU fic that ignores Book 7, but still happens during the war. I have a ridiculous soft spot for it, actually, even if I found it only recently. Percy runs a safehouse, helps every member of the Order that comes in, including Oliver. I love Percy interacting with all the characters, I love the development of Percy and Oliver's relationship, and that the fic shows how many people faught in the war and helped the Order.

Why I loved it: This one is a lovely get-together fic, in which Percy and Oliver meet again when Percy finds out that Oliver is working for the Ministry. There are misunderstandings, attempts at flirting, Percy having difficulties with dealing with emotions, Oliver teasing Percy... I love it.

11. Title: 'cause you know i love the players, and you love the game

Marcus kisses Percy after a game. The tabloids make a fuss, and Oliver is not pleased. Clearly, the only way to settle who's the best is with a good old-fashioned, naked wrestling match.
Why I loved it: Oliver and Marcus are both dating Percy and that's another reason for them to get competitive. I love it. It's hilarious. Oh, those three.

Why I loved it: I like this fic a lot. I want to hug Percy, who is so awkward around Viktor, and Viktor is awesome. And I like the conversations between Percy and George. Oh, I really like reading about Percy being happy.

Why I loved it: The fic focuses on Sirius and takes place after Sirius runs away from home and starts living with the Potters. Let me tell you, this fic gives me feels. Mr. Potter finds out about James and Sirius being Animagi and about Remus being a werewolf, Sirius has a difficult time adjusting to everything that has happened, there are family feels and Sirius acquires a motorbike. Also, he has a crush on Remus. I really like re-reading this fic from time to time.

Why I loved it: Misunderstandings, a brief kiss, and Sirius being jealous. How can I not like it? Also, the included illustrations are beautiful.

Why I loved it: It's a non-magical modern!AU, and also a library!AU, and I developed a soft spot for it frighteningly quickly. Sirius is flirting with Remus so much when they talk about Sirius paying all his fines, he brings him flowers, flirts some more, appreciates Remus' tattoos and wins Remus' heart. Also, I love Lily and Peter in this one.

Why I loved it: Modern!AU. I love fics which follow the "texted the wrong number" trope, but this one is pretty special. I absolutely love how Remus and Sirius get to know each other, how their friendship and later romantic relationship are established, and how the conversations are written. Aslo, I love James and Peter getting to know Remus, I like Remus and Alice's friendship and I really enjoy the plotline of the fic as a whole. I. Love. It.

He also finds out that Viktor isn't very good at expressing himself. Aw, those two.

Why I loved it: Slight AU, that focuses on Padma Patil, Sally-Anne Perks and the development of their relationship. I really enjoyed reading it, and it's really awesome how the fic includes so many different Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs! They really deserve more attention and appreciation.

Why I loved it: Neville has porosopagnosia, and the fic focuses on how his relationship with Hannah developed. It's a piece that makes me want to hug and Neville and Hannah. I also like that it includes Neville's friendship with Luna and with Hermione.

Why I loved it: This one was great. It focuses on Cho and it's amazing. I loved the interactions between her and everyone, but especially her conversation with Viktor and includng non-European magic. Cho is badass and I liked the insight into what and why she's doing. I think it's one of my favourite fics about Cho, actually.

Why I loved it: It's a really fun fic written in form of conversations between James, Sirius, Remus and Peter.

As the 'temporary' solution starts to become a more permanent one the Slytherins and their new Head of House try fighting back.
Why I loved it: The fic focuses on Pansy and how she fights for the new Slytherin students, who are often treated unfairly. And it's great to see Pansy working with Hermione, too.

Summary: It is two years after the final battle at Hogwarts during which Voldemort was defeated. Hogwarts has been fully repaired, de-cursed, and rebuilt and everyone is looking forward to its re-opening in the fall. There is only one problem-- professors. This story is an AU that assumes everything before the epilogue happened, while everything from the epilogue onward does not necessarily occur.
Why I loved it: That is one awesome fic which kind of analyzes the situation of Hogwarts two years after the war. Neville s put in charge of finding people who would want to work in Hogwarts. There is Pansy, who becomes the Professor of Ancient Runes, also Adrian, Hannah, Lisa, Lavender - I love how many minor characters appear in this fic, and how they interact. I absolutely love how Pansy and Neville work together, and how all the new teachers create a team.
