I'm so glad you appreciate my college's porters! they always were the best. (In my time, they could tell a regular boyfriend - "Good night, sir," - from a casual - "GOOD NIGHT, SIR!!") There are two opinions about the architecture, though. People have been known to compare the front bit to a prison - or a stud.

Ask her if she knows the joke about the five Oxford girls waiting at a bus stop. (Of course it's irrelevant now all the colleges are mixed, but it still stood in my time.)
