Holiday After-Party: Hal Stewart is the best . . . around.

Jan 05, 2013 19:11

Okay, so there were a number of prompts from the Advent Calendar that I'd wanted to tackle but I didn't have time for. This was one of them. It was a suggestion made by kbjones which involved Space Dad, Space Step-mom, and Hal during his training.

I'm willing to bet that this . . . was not at all what she had in mind. XD ( Read more... )

That was actually pretty darned awesome, I thought!!

Aaand...I never noticed The Watch before, when "Metro Man" pulls his arm back to punch Hal. XD So cool! ...maybe one day I'll see everything there is to see in this movie...LOL

Thanks, hon! I enjoyed making it and I thought it turned out pretty well. (Plus, I love flying my "child-of-the-80's" flag and seeing who joins in! Some of the youngsters around here may not know the reference!)

I know! There's so much detail in this film! I notice something new almost every time I watch it!

Sad thing is...I *don't* remember which movie that's from....just that it's from a movie. XD 80's fail!! I should be ashamed! [don't tell my sister, she'd probably disown me. XD]

Really, every time I think I've FINALLY noticed everything, someone points out something new! [the graffiti on the wall of the Evil Lair, I NEVER REGISTERED until someone pointed it out. Now I really need to get 'round to making an icon with it...just because! XD] Although I really need to go back and take a closer look at Metro Man's white cape...I've been trying to figure the edging out for a bit now. XD Because there are some shots where the stars look see-through when looking from the underside, but not when on top. Dunno if I'm just seeing things or not. LOL

Hahaha! Oh, no! You've forgotten The Karate Kid tournament montage! One of the best, cheesiest power montages of all 80's movies! (Don't worry; I won't tell your sister!) :D

"STRIKE FIRST, STRIKE HARD, NO MERCY, SIR!" XD

Thank you so much, sweetie! Totally inspired by your training montage video! (Probably not as well-made as yours, but I was happy with it!) Besides, I could really picture Hal relating to the song!

In his own mind, Hal is indeed the best . . . around! :D

He even seems to think so right up until the end of the movie!

Glad you liked it, dear!

This is great! Of course I couldn't see the vid at first but thanks for an add on I could watch it anyway. I just saw the movie again a couple of hours ago and you are right, poor Hal. He was just a replacemet for Metroman in the first place and he was such a lovely creepy nerd at first :(
I'm no child of the 80's, but could you tell me what the song is called anyway? I liked it!

Oh, yay! I'm so happy you got to see it! (I know some countries have difficulty with YouTube.)

The song is from the original Karate Kid movie from 1984. I've placed a link to the movie clip above, but if you really like the song, I've also uploaded it here. (The downloaded file probably says it's from my "Running Mix." That's because I listen to it . . . when I'm running!) :D
