Sounds like a fanfic I would like to read.

I don't have any good Halloween jokes, but since vampires have been making a come back due to the Twilight series maybe you could think of something that would connect with that...

Halloween must be a bit of an awkward affair for Megamind. On the one hand this was probably the one day out of the whole year growing up when he felt normal because kids and adults dressed up in costumes to look like monsters, aliens, etc.

But now I imagine there are more than a few boys and adult men wearing a Metro Man costume and I'm also thinking that any boy who wanted to dress up like Megamind would be frowned upon.

Oh, no -- it's standard to dress up as something scary, so dressing as a villain would be acceptable. Though then there's the factor that they're real people instead of fictional villains (the difference between a kid dressing as Loki in our world and the same in the Marvelverse) so dressing as Metroman or Megamind would be about on par with dressing like Osama or a member of Seal Team 6.

Though there were people in the crowd with Megamind masks . . . maybe Megamind would only complain if people had bootleg costumes. He probably gets royalties from the merchandising rights.

. . . I overthink things.

Well I think the perceived awkwardness of someone dressing up like Megamind would be heavily dependent upon if this is pre- or post- movie.

For some reason I just assumed this was going to be pre-movie.

Yes, but pre-movie it'd be like dressing up as any other villain -- people go as scary bad guys as well as heroes for Halloween. Megamind might view it as a sign of being a true villain that there's costumes of him next to Dracula and the Wolfman.

Though there could also be awkwardness if they critique his 'costume'.

ohgod. The real awkward?

The inevitable 'Sexy Megamind' women's costume.
