I will take a proper look at these when I need a break from my current fanfic writing/editing session.
Thanks so much for doing this. :)
As much as I love and can identify with Megamind.
I also find Metro Man/Music Man to be a compelling and interesting character. Although Megamind's story is unique it is not uncommon or entirely unheard of (your basic David vs Goliath--the person no one expected to succeed comes out on top). I can't think of any recent movies/stories where we have a "good guy" who isn't happy with his place in life and throws everything away in a rather spectacular fashion and has to crawl his way back to some type of redemption (which I am assuming would be incorporated into the plot for Megamind II and III).
Ok so I am officially taking a break to properly look at these and I have the biggest grin on my face.
Minus the exaggerated chin from an aesthetic perspective he is kind of handsome.
Yesterday I actually spent some time trying to figure out where he is visually looking when he is debating whether to intervene or not. I kind of thought he might be staring at one of the numerous portraits of himself lining the wall of his hideout, but the way the camera is panned it gives the impression he is staring at the ceiling as if to ask, "God are you up there? What am I supposed to do?"
I think I am going to change up some of my avatars or rotate them every now and again since I don't want to get a paid account at this time.
You're so welcome, hon! It makes me so happy to know you are pleased! I had really hoped you would be. (I think I managed to get all the images you asked for, but if there were any that I missed let me know!)
And I think I agree with you - Mets probably would have had to redeem himself in some way if the movie franchise had continued. (I sort of touched on it a bit in my own story, too.)
And, you know, I really hadn't considered where he might be looking in that scene until you mentioned it. I supposed I had just assumed he was staring off into the void somewhere, but it makes some sense that he might also be looking toward one of his old portraits as he imagines what he should do.
Although we can't know for sure where he is looking I am learning towards him looking at the ceiling. To me that just seems to be where his eyes are looking and he already had his moment at the museum where he asked this externalized ideal of who he is supposed to be what to do.
These are great. I particularly like the last few stills, with Megamind's green eyes looking out of Metro Man's face. And the gif is beautifully chosen. Thank you.

I am really fond of the sequence where he starts his monologue and we see the gradual transition from Music Man to Metro Man.
Aside from the specific requests I made I think a lot of Metro Man/Music Man/Metro Boy's screen time has already been captured in avatar form.
I have also recently discovered that there is a website that is helpful for providing still reference shots (link opens to Metro Man gallery): http://mega-mind.wikia.com/wiki/Gallery:_Metro_Man
