Crazy idea at 3am

Oct 06, 2011 03:19

Ok yeah I should be in bed fast a sleep but some blue alien in my head just dropped by and told me this crazy 'what if':

What if the males of his race were the ones to have the children not the females??? (and no one tells poor Meg's this, not even Minion since he was to young)

Going bed now.

And those wide childbearing hips. ^^

Wait a second... this reminds me... I just read a fanfic with some crazy alien anatomy shenanigans going on, and CG, I believe it was you who wrote it. >_>

Nope, sorry, NOT working for me at all...always hated the whole MPREG thing, big time. We're not talking seahorses here folks. To carry a foetus, the males would have to be built like females, basically, with very wide hips, which as we clearly see, neither Megs nor his dad have. His MOM has the hips AND the breasts, which clearly indicates that females of his race(I won't even designate it a separate species)are the ones who carry and birth the babies. I mean, seriously, why do some people want to turn Megamind into Cthulhu or something? The biologist in me can't deal with it, sorry. I an old fart, but a logical-thinking old fart, and I have to stick with the "if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, swims like a duck, and waddles like a duck, it's a freakin' DUCK" belief. Everything we CAN see and observe of Megamind is still within the realm of human physiology, plus I honestly can't see Roxanne as so kink as to be into a guy who is so far removed from human male physiology as to be a veritable air-breathing cephalopod ( ... )

Well, now...hm. While I support the idea that Megs is more or less human physiologically, for those who like the idea, I suggest the seahorse-pouch is perfectly feasible. Obviously he doesn't have the internal space to house a baby, especially one with such a big head, but I have to remember a very, very well-written series called Alien Nation that did in fact have a pregnancy shared equally by the husband and wife.

The wife carried the baby first, then transferred the little pod to the husband in a very beautiful, very moving scene that was witnessed by the husband's best friend, a human called Matt who was invited to the ceremony.(they were on Earth, where a ship had crashed and left a large group of humanoid aliens with no way home, so they were integrated into society over a period of many years-not without prejudice! Excellent series, as I said-it's on dvd, too)
