One Down, One To Go!

The countdown is on for the last Shadowplay event at the end of the month.... Finally!! I just did one a week ago, and I'm still feeling wiped out from getting that one together. The Nana live action movie is pretty fun. I love the manga, so was super excited to see it. The only complaint I have is that all the 'punk' music the bands play is...well...pop ballad fare. Maybe punk in Japan is really different from US/UK punk?

I'm planning to watch both Nana and Sukeban Deka later today (Monday) -- I'm sure that I'll like them both already, though!

I suppose that 'punk' over there is a bit more of a fashion thing.... in the same way that, erm, 'goth' is around here, you could say!! Actually, Mika Nakashima who plays the Nana from Black Stones usually sings very mellow music, indeed -- even that "Glamorous Sky" song that she has in the movie is ten times more edgy than her usual stuff!!! (Yuno Ito is also known for doing mostly ballads!) The girls who do the songs for the anime - Anna Tsuchiya and OLIVIA - actually do come from a more rock direction, though. I might have to check out the anime too sometime!! I'm already getting the songs and music videos from it, so why not go all the way?!

The Death Note anime is really cool, by the way -- I'm definitely going to keep going with that one! I also watched a few more episodes of The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya which is pretty good as well.... a bit silly sometimes, but with a weird undercurrent. (The title ( ... )
