First of all, since I didn't say it before, welcome to LJ!!! :D
My best friend is really into Star Trek, and had been trying to get me to watch it for awhile. Needless to say, after watching this movie, I sat down with her and watched some TOS and TNG, which I enjoyed. I'm content to remain a casual fan though.
The lens flare was awesome, don't let anybody tell you otherwise! I was actually shocked at the first scenes with Kirk's Dad; I had no idea what was coming and I totally teared up while watching it. :')
I would recommend watching "Bottle Shock," which is an indie film Chris Pine did recently! :D It has Alan Rickman in it too, which makes it doubly awesome. I watched it for the pretty boys, but ended up falling in love with it.
Aw, thanks so much! Also, don't worry I love long comments like this! :D
Yeah, that's how I've always been to. I always knew quite a bit about both Star Trek and Star Wars because my family members were big fans. It's still kind of casual though cause after TOS, I never really gotten into any other ST except the movies. I guess I love the original dudes and now their reboot actors to much lol.
Whoo, someone else that loved them! Some of my friends complained that they were way to bright when we watched it. :P I know I did to! I teared up when he tried to joke about his dad's name!
Oooh, Chris Pine AND Alan Rickman, you say?? Definitely gonna check it out :D Have you scene Chris Pine's movie "The Carriers"?? Crazyness!
