I HATE PROGRAM NOTES. SO MUCH.
I DON'T CARE THIS MUCH ABOUT THE PERSONAL LIFE OF HANDEL. I REALLY DON'T.

Well, the idea behind program notes is to write a paragarph or two or three with interesting facts about the composer and general things that your audience should listen for in your pieces that will enhance their "listening experience". Y'know. Make them "actively listen" or "listen below the surface" or other spiffy phrases that Dr. Chance uses. >_>
But gotta be honest...Handel has been the least interesting person I've ever read about. Ever. Worse than Mozart was. -_-
Thus, my program note for his sonata that I'm playing is currently SUCKING.
