Tenth Birthday

Today's my tenth birthday. Wow, I'm glad that cat virus wore off. I mean, it was fun, but I did some really dangerous things. I guess now I know what they mean when they say "curiosity killed the cat!"

"Happy Birthday, Mega." X had brought a nicely wrapped present and a cake. It wasn't a big cake, but it was an ice cream cake.

"Wow. Thanks, X!" Mega smiled broadly and gestured X inside. "I better get that in the freezer. Or... Did you want to join me and have a piece of it? I can open your gift while you're here, too."

X smiled and stepped inside past Mega. "Sure. I'll stay a bit. I don't want to just drop it off and go. It's your birthday, after all."

Once X was inside, Mega closed the door, then led him to the kitchen. "Dr. Light and Pitch are out shopping for a gift for me. Dr. Light ordered something for me, but there was an accident at the postal delivery center. Apparently, my gift was in one of the packages that got destroyed." Mega shrugged. He didn't sound particularly upset by this.
