Riverblossom Hills: Viejo/Goldstein/Martin (R2)

Dec 10, 2011 16:16

Christmas is a busy time! There's presents to be bought, cookies amd candies to be made, etc, plus full time work and assorted other things. I haven't had time to do much simming at all this week, nor post anything. I've played a little Skyrim, that's about it.

Here's some more Riverblossom Hills pictures, though.

Ah - and you've posted a little more RBH. I'm always glad to see more of it. Party time! Your Viejo lot is so different from mine (which grew into a huge mansion), but I like your version too. And I like your versions of the sims themselves very much too. Sigh - there are so many ways to play, and so hard to choose ... :D

Thanks. :) The possibilities really are infinite, and I sometimes struggle when I see other people's takes on things too. "That's so cool, why didn't I do it like that?", or I just think of a new way to do something and I get the urge to start everything over... I just need to keep reminding myself that the grass isn't always greener on the other side, and that if I keep starting over, nothing will ever get anywhere! So I'm not starting over Riverblossom again. If I get bored, I'll just play something else for a while, another 'hood or another game, (as I am now), but NOT drop everything and start over. *determined*

I love a full house, especially when there's a party going on. Betty seems to be very social compared to Catherine - I always thought the opposite. These types of post make me want to play the maxis families, but there's so much fug! I'll give it a shot (all I have to do is take everything out of the dls folder except bodyshop and wait for an hour....TS2 is melting my MOBO).

In my mind, Betty is the gossipy one, I think I gave her popularity as a secondary aspiration. Catherine seems a bit more reserved. Maybe she changed after her husband died? She's having a pretty hot affair with Leod McGreggor, though. :)

I find that almost all premade sims clean up nicely with a makeover, although I also don't mind sims that have imperfections, I'd be bored if all my sims were pretty. :) The premades are certainly fun, but I understand that they're not everyone's cup of tea!

I've tried making them over - I recently made over Mrs. Crumplebottom from SimsWiki and she is very beautiful (if you don't mind the thin lips). I put her in the uberhood and attempted to do some makeovers, but then some fug townies made me lose interest - I have a huge problem with those beak-like noses. BTW, do you know her true hair color? I aged her down and she took the color of the previous sim. Also what's her first name? She's not Agnes Crumplebottom, right? Sorry to bombard you with all these questions.

Mrs. Crumplebottom doesn't have a first name. She's not really the same as Agnes Crumplebottom, no, at least not in TS2, but EA themselves don't really seem to be sure about this, as in TS3 they've made them out to be the same person. So it's open to interpretation. I don't know if Mrs. Crumplebottom HAS a hair colour in TS2 because she's an "object NPC" and probably lacks DNA. But Agnes has blonde hair in TS3, at least. In TS2 she's (Agnes) got DNA for black hair (at least in my template, I can't remember if I changed it or not).

Interesting and goofy NPC's indeed. Really like the mustache on the maid... =P I usually have the residents all move in to a smaller lot, their maxis lot is far too big for my liking, but I usually build the house with a similar (but smaller) floor plan.
Sorry for throwing in a WCIF here as well but I'd like to know where you got Betty's yellow/brown outfit from?

Haha, I do so love that facial hair & glasses on townies/NPCs hack. :D Yeah, I've moved them to a different lot before too, but this time I wanted to see what I could do with their original house. I emptied the second floor and moved everything to the first floor, though.

Betty's outfit is actually two parts, both by CatOfEvilGenius, shirt here and skirt here. :)

Maybe you get the goofiest NPCs but at least they are fun. ;)

I never much played with the pre-made hoods save for Riverblossom Hills. I really liked it and I am really enjoying seeing how you have developed your own. You have such a nice playing style and a simplistic yet lovely manner of decorating that I enjoy.

That they are. :)

I like the country feel of Riverblossom Hills a lot. It's my favourite out of the non-base game 'hoods, for sure. And thank you. ^^
