So, as many of you may be aware of, two of the default Maxis face templates - 21 and 25 - are broken, as in they're not linked correctly to the other ages. They'll show up as face template 2 for any other age than adult (sometimes the elf template

Maybe I'm a bit late already, but personally I'd change them based on how they look when the game starts, because that's how we know them. :)

That's what I decided to do, too. :)

In his case, he should keep his teen looks, if we're sticking with the logic that the premades should retain their looks.
It really sucks that one of the downtownie templates is also flawed! Did nobody at EA ever notice this? You'd think it would have been corrected in later EPs or with a patch. (Yeah, I know. Wishful thinking...)

But I agree, the gothie kid would look really... off with his goth makeup and Jared Starchild's lumpy face.
He's not the only one, either. I found at least three more (2 teens and 1 adult) in the list of downtownies.

Thank you for this interesting problem, I just found out about it the other day, in the LJ I linked to (it's not mine, but they're cute indeed ;)). I did notice that some sims really had ugly genes, but individually. Now it all makes sense.
The same interest for semi-mysteries made me play the Tricou teens, who really, as you said, don't have anything to do with the Tricous whatsoever, nor with each other, for that matter. Only that maxis decided to link them who knows why.
Well, TBH, I just found out two of them had a little more in common that I thought: borked faces :D

Hah, I was so caught up with the face stuff I didn't even notice the journal name was different. :P Oops.
I've no idea what EAxis was doing with the Tricou downtownie teens. They're only linked one way in the family tree, too. They show him as their father, but if you click on him you don't see them (or the other way around, I can't remember). But considering the amount of utter gargabe I've found lying around in the 'hoods, I guess it's not really that weird. Heh, I guess they didn't expect the players to invent a program and go dig around in their mess. :)
