Pleasantview house makeovers

I needed a little break from the uberhood, so I decided to fiddle around with the little Pleasantview/Strangetown merge I made. I'm not too sure what I'll do with it yet... Maybe play it as a sort of prosperity-style/let the sims make their own decisions type thing. Also, I wanted to do some makeovers, after being inspired by various talented ( Read more... )

Oh, God. So much better. I've never been able to understand why half of Pleasantview looks like the East Coast or the upper Midwest, and half of it looks like Southern California. Weird. And so many of those households are so difficult to play, too. I'm impressed that you didn't even have to use money cheats. Good job!

Thank you! Yeah, I guess it makes some more sense when you consider it's a basegame hood, before there were subhoods and weather... but it's still pretty odd. There's that huge, ridiculous mansion with the elaborate garden, too - that also looks very southern with palm trees and stuff. I just got rid of that whole lot, there's no way to makeover something that huge into anything useful.

It's nice to see your makeovers too :) I especially like the new floorplan of the Caliente house.

Thank you. :) The old floorplan was so bad... such huge, empty rooms.

These are so much better! I always hate those houses, especially the empty ones because you can't even fit a double bed in any of the bedrooms. The layouts are just awful, but you've made them playable and pretty. Great job! :D

Thanks! :) I do like the general idea of the houses and how they look on the outside, but inside they are, as you say, terrible. I hate the EAxian tendency to build houses (and apartments!) with no room for a double bed. Maybe they expect us to make lots of single sims with no love life?

Thank you! Glad you like them. :) Oh, that is pretty weird, about the floorplan! Is it the upstairs or downstairs you mean?
