Merged Pleasantview and Strangetown

Aug 10, 2010 19:09

I made this for nepheris. It's a simple merge of Pleasantview and Strangetown, with Strangetown as a shopping district. There's no other 'hoods or subhoods, and no stealth hood sim bin families ( Read more... )

pleasantview, clean premade neighbourhoods, download, strangetown

This is a nice idea. It's less overwhleming than the merged megahood. Thanks for all the work you put into these. ^_^

Heheh, you're welcome. :) Yeah, it is a lot less overwhelming. I used one of these (I never shared it, though) for that story I was working on a year or so back.

Ooh, this looks great (I'm still afraid of the True Uberhood).

One question. Does this combo hood have replacement PT issues like the True Uber does?

It doesn't bite, honest!

Hrm, I don't quite know, I sorta forgot about that. >_> I did reset the sim creation index in this one as well, to fill in all those holes. So I guess it might still have problems overwriting the garbage DNA. It seems to be more a random game hiccup than a real glitch, though, since it doesn't happen to everyone and not consistently.

I might test it out later, and if you feel up to trying it out as well, please do. More test data = better.

*shifty eyes* Nah, I'm still too scared of the big dog full mega hood. But I can help you test out the puppy hood.

One dumb question (I think it's been asked before but I don't remember the answer).

Do combined hoods (including this lite version) have their own hood number or do they overwrite existing hoods (in particular, the maxis hoods)?

I have 10 or so hoods in my game (including two copies of strangetown--it's the only maxis hood I've cloned) so if I need to pull any out to try this, I just need to know. (lord forbid I actually retire a hood--I can't let go!).

Oh, this one uses Pleasantview as its base, so if you've got another N001 in there, you've got to take that out.

The full Uberhood uses Belladonna Cove/E001 as the base.

Yay it's here it's here it's here! ^^

Yet again (and I think you're getting sick of hearing this :p) thank you for making this for me :) I have pretty much everything by Pescado as well, couldn't play without that man's hacks anymore.

You're welcome!

Yeah, Pescado's hacks are an absolute must, or I'd go insane trying to play this game. I have a wide selection of other mods and fixes too.

Ooh, I did a similar one with your clean Strangetown and Veronaville! Having all the premade hoods was just too much for me. I will like this one too thank you for uploading it for everyone!

Cool. :) Maybe sometime later I'll do some more mini-merges like this, too. Yeah, the full uberhood is a bit much for me too sometimes. :P

And, you're welcome!

Speaking of testing Strangetown, there's something that's happened in the clean Strangetown. I'm not sure if it's something I did, but when I entered the Smith house, Jenny and Pete, even though they are seen as husband/wife, don't have any of the pie menu options usually available to married couples. They have some options that are available to Parent/child (Encourage, friendly hug) and they don't even have a 'Kiss' option, not even for family kiss.

I noticed it after I aged Jenny down a few days with the Simblender. That was when I thought to fulfill their want to kiss. I thought it may have been because of the change I made, so I quit without saving and went back in to see if that was the case. There was still no kiss option visible and there were the added parent/child options.

I went ahead and made her pregnant using Inteen, and then everything seemed to come good. The options for child/parent were gone, and all of the options available to married couples were there.

Hm. I don't see how that could have anything to do with the clean neighbourhood, though, especially not if it worked before you aged her down. I'm always a bit sceptical of using those aging options, really. Also, you probably know this, but InTeen is notorious for creating various problems in people's games. :)

Glad you got it fixed, anyway.

OK, I misread the part about quitting without saving (sorry, it's 7 in the morning). Still, this sounds more like a random glitch than a problem with the 'hood. If their relationship status was really that messed up, it couldn't be fixed by something as simple as making her pregnant.
