Dora thinks she went wrong with Sharla? My heart continues to break for that girl, though it probably shouldn't since she seems fine with who she is.
Dora reminds me of a sheepdog, herding and deciding what even the adults should be doing. I mean, jeez, if Samantha gets too tired playing with the twins, she'll take a break.
Sharla will be all right, once she's out of the house. She's strong. :) Teesha might actually be worse off...
Hah, sheepdog - yup, that's pretty accurate. Samantha really does hate how Dora keeps overprotecting her (after all, Dora's the type who will say things like 'pregnancy is not a disease'), but she just doesn't want any trouble. It's usually easier to just go along with Dora's craziness.
Dora has a tiny bit of creepiness about her which I like. The whole timing dinner for when her son is just arriving home from work. Psst, he's your SON not your HUSBAND.
I'm also betting she's not above snooping, if it's justified (hide your diaries, kiddos!). She'd never actively go looking for, say, a diary but she'd have her eyes peeled for one (and do some extra deep cleaning--like say, flipping mattresses as an excuse to "accidentally" turn up something juicy).
Poor Dora never had a husband, see... I could totally see a horror story starring her, where she just keeps Samantha and her precious womb locked in the basement and tries to take the wife role herself. :P Dora wouldn't go that far, though, she's too sensible to be that insane.
And yes, she would totally "accidentally" come across diaries and pick up the phone when someone's on the line, and such. Peter knows this very well, though, and is being cautious so he doesn't give her any leads. But how long will that work?
I love how you've been able to capture not only Dora as a character but the happenings of the family as well. She certainly takes her role as matriarch seriously!
Tommy is cute. :) I've no idea where that nose comes from, but it's no Ottomas nose, that's for sure. The rest of his face has more familiar features, though. I'm looking forward to seeing him grow up and who he might hook up with, so far his options are pretty scarce in Riverblossom Hills.
Peter can't keep his secret forever... not with Dora around. Peter does love his kids, but it wasn't his idea to have this many. And spending little time with them is one thing, but now he's got a daughter who he cannot see at all... so he's making up for lost time by giving all his attention to Melvin.
