Hey! I got the link to your story from SimSecret and I read all the chapters today... I'm really enjoying it! I love Maxis Match stories because I think other CC looks so out of place and actually puts me off :( I love Cassandra being in Strangetown, too! I'm hoping she'll hook up with Pascal, haha.

Heheh, I'm glad that SimSecret served as a little bit of advertisement. :p

And also glad to hear you're enjoying the story! :) I'm with you on the Maxis Match - I'm pretty lenient up until a certain point, but if they just look TOO super-shiny and non-Maxis I just... can't get into the story. Pictures are usually half the fun, and it just doesn't look right.

Cassandra is going to have fun in Strangetown, I promise that. :)

Haha yeah, you know what they say, any publicity is good publicity!
I really like the skins you use, do you mind me asking where you got them? I've been thinking about using default replacements for a while now, and those look really good.

Hee, it's true!

My defaults are these: http://linna.modthesims2.com/download.php?t=292286

They're actually just Maxis skins with a face overlay. I also have the eyes which are pictured there.

ALDRIC!! *sniff* It seems like only last night I was giving him a makeover.

Oy, Nervous sure is stuck between a rock and a hard place. I don't know what I'd do if I were him.

This chapter should dispel any notion that people like the secretposter had about this story. It's awesome.

Aww, I'm sorry about Aldric! I was gonna go with Matthew Hart first, but... well, Aldric and Almeric are basically the same sim, and they're face template 1 - and I wanted it to be a playable, not a random townie, so... he drew the shortest straw, I'm afraid.

Nervous is in a difficult position, for sure. On the other hand, he's got the upper hand moreso than he ever has in his whole life...

Secretposter appears to have crawled back under whatever rock they came from, and I'm left with a couple of new people friending me afterwards, so even if I felt a little bad yesterday I'm well over it now. :) Thanks again!

Oh, Aldric over Matty any day! I ♥ him already and I haven't even written him. And makes more since with the way Olive got Aldric over to the house - Matt already has Sarah.

Hee. Matthew has an interesting face. I was planning to break up him and Sarah and have that be the reason he turned to Internet Love. I still think he might break it off with her eventually, he's got like three other girls he's got bolts with. :p "Matthew Hart and Sarah Love" is just too sickeningly sweet.

Mmm, a whole chapter with Nervous. I really like the way you write him, too. He's not super damaged like a lot of stories make him. And you kept Olive nice and sinister but not purely evil (yeah, she's killing folks, but it's for LOVE! *snicker*).

OMG!!! You have Aldric in your story!! You're copying MEEEEE!!! *snort* AND you poisoned a sim. You're copying MEEEEE and CINDYANNE!!!! *flounce flounce flounce*

Seriously, I liked seeing Aldric but was sad to see him offed. He's a fun sim (shame on you Olive!).

If I haven't mentioned it before, I really like the pacing of your story. It has a great balance, with the plot moving along at a good clip but not at the expense of character development and the characters develop through the plot (and I like that you're keeping the "cast" very much an ensemble--I love big ensemble stories, they're like buffets).

Thank you. :) I figure Nervous just isn't like other sims. Perhaps the physical strength he got from his father extends to a strength of mind, too? I love Olive. I don't see her so much as eeeevil. Circe is the cackling evil one, and to a lesser extent Loki. They know what they're doing is wrong, and they love it. Olive is just completely insane. She's outside of morality ( ... )

Just butting in here... madame_ugly December 24 2009, 06:06:42 UTC
Hey! Sorry to butt in on this little conversation but I would like to share my opinion: I've always thought of Circe being the person nobody would suspect until it was too late, and Olive being the obvious psycho. And I've always pictured Loki as the doting accomplice...HAHAHA i've been watching too much NCIS and SVU ;) I really liked how you gave Nervous and Olive their own chapter. Poor Aldric :(
Anyway, you should make Nervous have flashbacks. Like PTSD or something. That would be very realistic...but then again it's the sims! Keep up the good work!

...is it wrong that I think Nervous looks hott? Yes? Owell...
I like the name Gabriel for him. I named him Edom in my game but I think Gabriel suits him.

(I just found your story via MaxisTaste link btw, and it rocks!)

Hi there, and thanks for reading. :)

Hehe, I'm not sure I agree with you on Nervous, but it's hardly wrong. ;)

Edom is a cool name for him, too. Mythological and biblical names run strong in Strangetown. I picked Gabriel 'cause he's a powerful angel in the Bible, but also sometimes regarded as the angel of death. Olive thought long and hard about this, of course. With her fascination for death, she of course regards the SON of death as more or less divine, too.

ooooh *intrigue* etc!

I was wondering about the Cheri Muenda part. Interesting that she still keeps parts of her past and things. AND THEN SHE KILLED HIM AND I WAS ALL WOW!

It's funny that he can trust her more than he could the Beakers. So odd in so many ways.

Hehehe. :D Olive was going with the whole tree-name theme there (Olive, Willow, Cherry) and used her maiden name... Nice userpic there, by the way! Hee.

I think Nervous is the only person who CAN trust Olive at all. It's implied that, in addition to her husbands and random NPCs, she also killed her sister and her husband, and her own parents. Ophelia got away just in time.

Heh, I love it. She's such a cool character.

Yeah, I can believe that she killed her sister and parents. It's creepy how nicely you've written her, actually. It makes her seem scarier.

(How did Olive originally get into killing people? Will we ever find out or is that going to be unspecified?)

The tree-name thing is something I noticed too, but I would not have thought of Cheri as a name. I guess I was just confused because I was like "Nervous had a kid? Olive had another kid who had a kid? WHAT?" because for some reason I thought Cheri was a real person...until Olive fed Aldric stuff :( then I realised what was going on. Yes, I'm a little slow.

Woo I should go to sleep now ;)

I think Olive was more or less born a psychopath. Her real killing spree started after her first husband left her at the altar (this is in her memories, and in the pre-made pictures), but she does have memories of one or two deaths before that, too.

Hee, don't worry about being confused about Olive's "granddaughter", it was meant to be a little confusing! So I'm actually pleased about that. :)

Hope you had a good sleep. ;D
