I love this picture. It expresses what Darren's thinking, even though he's there in his suit, trying to be happy.
I also really enjoyed the banter between Darren and Dina. It seems a lot like they'd be, and her "The ring is beautiful" comment to Mortimer is so much in character.
The seasons thing with new life and new beginnings is good too!
Everyone in Pleasantview is at the wedding - except the Brokes and the Oldies. And Kaylynn :P
Also, I laughed when I noticed the sideboob on Dina's dress. She's such a harlot.
Thank you. :) I got very lucky with that picture, Darren did clap and cheer too, but he just hesistated a bit longer than the others, with that sad expression on his face. It was perfect.
Writing the Darren-Dina stuff was fun. Dina is, of course, in no position to judge others for being unemployed, but that's just the kind of person she is. :p She likes money and shiny things and revealing dresses. She's not by any means a "dumb blonde" as Cassandra calls her, though...
The Brokes do not have a big part in this story, but I like them so much so I kinda have to throw them in where I can. They didn't even get to go to the wedding!
I wanted Cassandra to have a big wedding... it required lots of micromanagement though, there was no way they were all going to sit neatly like that without my strict instructions. :p
Haha, I've done the desctruction wedding a few times too - but I figured it would be more fun if the destruction comes later... And I mean, I'm sure Don proposed to her for a reason. ;)
The big wedding was fun (yet frustrating). The game did indeed give me Darren and Dina at Don & Cassie's table, so I just had to write it in, it was too funny.
I feel bad for Darren too. :( But things will work out for him..
I like that hair, it's a good formal hair and it does go well on Dina. I just realised now I used it on Jennifer Burb as well.
Poor Morty has not had an easy time since Bella vanished... we'll see how this whole second marriage thing works out for him.
Dun, dun, dun, duuun... I guess that's going to change soon enough :)
I've been meaning to read this story since I saw your first chapter but haven't gotten around to it until today. I love it! The Strangetown/Pleasantview combination is just made for wunnerful drahmahz and I like where you are going (or could be going) with this. Well written too :)
:D I'm glad you're liking it! I've wanted for the longest time to make a story with these two neighbourhoods combined, now I've finally gotten around to it. I've made a couple of attempts on TSR before but they didn't get very far. Being able to use the pictures directly instead of linking to them makes such a HUGE difference with a sim story, I think.
Thank you for reading & taking the time to comment!
I like Mortimer, and I think he and Bella really had a good relationship, and her disappearence devastated him. So I had a little trouble figuring out why he'd be into Dina, but I settled with him feeling incredibly lonely and just wanting a companion again - so why not bubbly, beautiful young Dina?
Don IS gross. Haha. That's a very fitting description for him. I love Don for his epic ickiness, but I don't think he's intentionally being a jerk, he just can't help it. :p Also, he really does love Cassandra... it's the fact that he loves pretty much all women that's the problem!
