Ahh I just have to share this. NHK (Nihon Housou Kyoukai) is the national public broadcasting corporation of Japan paid by the public fee. So it's supposed to be equivalent of BBC and as good as it, you'd think. Wrong ( Read more... )

-sounds funny alright! Japan is very wacky, but then, that's part of it's appeal! Do you think the BBC is good then?

I didn't know they had the BBC over there~! Well, you learn something new everyday so they say :D
That was funny, I think if I saw that my mouth would have been hanging open. Lols. Did they think that those watching had suddenly had a united memory lapse about how the people were notified or something?
Even though I do like the professional-ness of the BBC, being the very easily amused person that I am, I would love to see something like that once. I would lol lots.

We can't see BBC unless you pay for the cable :( (if we did have BBC here we wouldn't be this ignorant XD) But I get to watch the BBC in class.

whee, NHK is really, really funny, I remember the talks on financial and economical issues on Sunday mornings, and the show where the participant had to name ingredients of fancy European dishes. Anyway, what you described is major fun.

LOL. You gotta love NHK and their seedy little models/diaramas. I bet they spent good money(or perhaps some of the assistant directors spent late nights making them, poor overworked souls)on those things too. All that time and energy for something they'll only use for 45 seconds or so. 高度な経済理論をわかりやすく解説・図式化するならともかく煙突から出て来る煙のモデルを作るのはちょっと。。。それより受信料を安くして欲しい!

I so agree with the 受信料 X) And yes, they must've worked so hard making that model!

Wow, that sounds so Japanese. :-)

Maybe they had somebody from Toho Studios build the model??

LOL, now imagining:

The newscaster saying, "And here is our model of the layout of the Vatican..." [camera pans over the model] When suddenly an enormous scaly green three-toed foot stomps the Vatican!

Haha I can see how they had to engage in serious meetings with Toho for the Vatican model they used !
