So, it's Valentine's Day. I was planning to get all creative and do a picspam of every ship I've ever been into, but... yeah. Not going to happen. Instead, I'll quote Scully. Because there's really no way I can go wrong with that, right?

"Well, it seems to me that the best relationships - the ones that last -

BB, OMFG!

Scully is a freaking GENIUS! SERIOUSLY! *is in shock*

That quote is SO very true and describes what happened to me with a friend of mine. I'll have to tell you the story some time privately, but WOW! LOVE that quote and just.......wow! (sadly, I can't say much more than this........)

And you said you could only quote Mulder! Look at you busting out the holiday-appropriate Scully quotage.

And, of course, my brain firstly goes to Alex/Tony reading this because I'm obsessive. And then I think, damn, I want some of this epic friendship-based love that is going around. *starts mentally going through my list of friends*

Happy Valentines Day! (Which it totally no longer is for you but I suppose it half-way counts since it still is here.)

I thought I'd stretch myself and try on some Dana Katherine Scully for size. Surprise surprise - I like it!

my brain firstly goes to Alex/Tony reading this
I KNOW, MINE DOES TOO. It's so perfect. I can picture Alex's dad (who in my mind is this awesomely wize old Dumbledore-like geezer, sort of) saying something along these lines to Tony. CUTE!

I think to be eligible for this epic-friendship-love you have to be completely committed to your job and working in a socially-isolating intensive law enforcement field, and also you must be able to run in extremely high heels in an Alex/Scully fashion.

And Oh. My. Gosh. I just freaked myself out when I typed Alex/Scully. *mind explodes all over keyboard*

Happy (very belated) Valentine's to you too!

I love the idea of Alex's Dad as a wise old Dumbledore-like dude. And I could totally imagine her Mom as super feisty and passionate and maybe, like certain other people, a bit quick to anger. And Dad would be the calming influence in the family with Alex being this nice blend of the two of them. *pats fictional Fielding family on their little heads* I wonder how Tony would take a fatherly speech from Alex's Dad? He'd probably say or do something totally awkward in response but Dad being all wise and Dumbledore-like would see through Tony's oddities and they'd end up getting along quite well. And... I went off on a tangent there ( ... )

That's pretty much exactly as I see Alex's parents - her mom as this passionate Italian-ish firebrand - which, as you hinted, is exactly where Alex gets it from - and her dad as the wise, calmer, rational intellectual type - like Tony (and Dumbledore). Which I realise is totally stereotypical but what the hey, it's my random backstory and I'm sticking with it ( ... )
