I love having this kind of strange relationship with all the Cuddy women. He holds the role of would be lover, champion, and worry. Amazing. It's like he's been the only real man in their lives for decades.

Oh, WOW!!! I'm completely gobsmacked!

It's like he's been the only real man in their lives for decades.
You just perfectly described House's relationship with the these three women; that is EXACTLY how it feels to me, and I've NEVER been able to really articulate it so clearly before. Your comment is precisely how it is; they've all kind of latched onto him, in their different ways, and he's very much stepped into the role left vacant by Cuddy's father (and this is a good and bad thing, all at once).

Seriously, I think this is the best comment I've ever, ever received for a fic. You've just given this huge lightning bolt of insight into my own story and characters. Wow. Really, wow. Thank you! Thank you thank you thank you!!!

XD LOL, it's ten hours later and I'm still 0_0 over your observation!! You described Cuddy's family's weird relationship with House so perfectly, I could not have said it better.

Just... wow.

Another Cuddy woman! I like the tender side of House. ;)

Yep! That's all of them! (Except for Cuddy's cousin Dana, who I might write one of these days, lol!)

I like this side of House, too. I think he'd be much more likely show this capacity for tenderness with Cuddy's sister and mother than he would with Cuddy herself. Which is a little sad!

this is true and sometimes i hate him for that. she's the one that deserves his tenderness the most and is the one less likely to get it :( i think that hurts her selfsteem.

I love that Vanessa is a troubled, talented singer. Estelle is a brilliant novelist. And Cuddy pretty much went in the other direction of all that artistic haze. Revolting against a natural tendency, maybe?

More!

Oh, snap! That's exactly how it goes! Nice insight! :D

Cuddy, who you would think would be the perfect daughter (smart, medical school etc) is actually almost the black sheep! She has rebelled, whether consciously or not, against her wonderfully, difficultly artistic family. And, just to further prove your point, Cuddy's father was an academic; he was an associate professor in comparative religion. She's the first, and only scientist in her entire family.

More is on the way!! I have great, rather epic plans! And soon you'll even get some Wilson! Yay!! ;)

i wonder if cuddy plays an instrument or not; i mean, would her parents have tried to encourage some kind of artistic skill?

Cool! their little walk around the hospital, in my mind, is hilarious :) they all act like they're a family. estalla acted exactly like his mother-in-law and ness acts like a little sister. i look my arm with my brother-in-law. it's like he's a big brother/dad figure

I think they'd look quite cute wandering around together! And it would certainly get Foreman and Chase etc talking ;)

They almost are a kinda dysfunctional little family, really. House has been in their lives for over twenty years now, and he kinda adores all three of these smart, stubborn women. Who wouldn't; Cuddy's family is awesome!! (in a damaged sort of way, lol)

I think House and Vanessa have a particularly special 'connection'; he's always admired her musical talent, and he's always felt a little bit sorry for how her sister and mother kinda push her to the side. Vanessa is one messed up chick - she inherited a lot of their father's unstable personality - but House can appreciate this about her. I would say he's very fond of her, indeed!

TY! I was inspired by this last ep to make a few icons; Cuddy was SO beautiful in red!

Feel free to snag it if you want, just give me a tiny credit :)

I love it! There's something oddly enjoyable about House having this sibling style relationship with Cuddy's sister. Hope you do one that brings all the Cuddy women together =)

Thank you! I'm really, really pleased you enjoyed it! ♥

House and Vanessa do have a rather special relationship. They're very similar, and they share a great passion for music, and they're tied together by their love (kinda, in House's case, lol) for Cuddy, who can sometimes be slightly aloof, I think, like Estelle is. I like the idea that Cuddy kinda makes both House and Vanessa feel like they're not up to scratch - not intentionally, of course - but that Cuddy is so smart and accomplished etc (even though she's messed up too), while House and Vanessa are both kinda screwed up. They're like kindred spirits, in a way, I guess.

All three Cuddy women will be getting together soon! ;D

i agree; it's possible that neither feels like they're up to her level. Who can compete or be good enough for someone so beautifcul, smart (and all the other nice things you said)? no one, that's who. she has to remind them both that they do deserve her love.

That's how I feel about her, kinda. She's so great, and so she's intimidating to the people around her, but she doesn't really realise this; she doesn't think she's great at all, she thinks she's sort of a failure.

So it's a three(thousand)-way-street of insecurity, lol!
