You know, I'm of the firm opinion that netflix is the best thing ever. Mostly because I never have to turn to current television again. (I, too, am forever regaled at work about the latest episode of real housewives or boarders or some other reality trash) I just started dr who, and I have enough episodes to stream onto my tv that I'll be set for a while. I totally believe I shouldn't watch a show until it's completely over. Or at least has enough episodes that it would take me FOREVER to catch up. I get very cranky waiting a week between episodes otherwise.
And I think my favorite show of all time (which may or may not be embarrassing depending what you're into) is Babylon 5. Followed closely by Firefly.
Do you ever join group who are talking about a marriage or scandal very seriously only to figure out it's a tv couple? I get that a lot.
I'm with you there, I'm impossible if I watch something that's continued next week! Much better when the next episode is a dvd/click away ;)
Firefly was fun, I got the dvds as it wasn't shown here for ages. Babylon 5 I've only seen random episodes of but it's the sort of thing I'd watch too so nope not embarrassing LOL
MANIMAL!!! That was one of my fav series for a while there! Completely cool effects as well, for the time *eyeroll*
Man I feel old! Oh Meeps, we're so old! *grin* Lots of very functional male (upper body) nudity that series *wriggles eyebrows* for the time it was quite shocking I believe!
Damn, hubby's gone out, I'm going to have to remember to tell him in the morning LOL he's convinced I'm the only person who watched the series LOL you're the first person I've ever known to have heard of it ^__^ I mentioned it on a cult tv forum once and everyone was uh?
I'm completely affronted that Manimal is forgotten in the annals of tv history *harrumphs* 't was the bestest thing ever!
Oh, asked hubby if he heard about it and he was like "yeah, yeah, that nude guy that could change into a panther? Yeah my baby sister watched it too" He'll never admit to watching it himself ^_^
*very big grin* I love you too honey *spins you around for another dance*
Not wiser? It's is the epitome of wisdom to keep in touch with your inner child *wise pointy finger* *coughs* *grin*
I so agree that you should never be ashamed of the TV that you watch! We all like things that other people don't. I feel the same way about "summer reads" - like that you're not supposed to like that sort of fiction unless you're on holiday. Ugh. I love books that are summer reads and I'm proud of it!
I think Hurcules falls into the so bad it's good category...
I really don't get why people should feel embarassed about what they watch/read?
Had a woman in work comment on me reading a Terry Pratchett once scoffed they were 'kids books' I just told her she's missing out and there's a whole lot more things in them than you'll find in Harry Potter which she's a big fan of! but then she thought Dan Brown was 'wonderful' so I gave up on her LOL each to their own.
Summer reads sell so you're far from alone in liking them ;) I like Nora Roberts, undemanding formula romance stories, but so what.

EXACTLY this. Often the 'badness' is the reason to watch :D
