NOW the story is COMPLETE. Completely complete.
'Here they come now. Good luck with this bunch' Sheila winked at him before striding away,
heels clicking professional efficeny. Buster the big boss had already dropped by Hsin's office briefing him on the new interns and assuring he'd take due care of them. He'd given Hsin a long considering look then seemed to decide something, nodding decisively and wishing him good luck before leaving. Later in the morning Buster's husband Boo had appeared at Hsin's desk with an offering of strong fragrant coffee and a fresh bagel. He'd also left a kitten in Hsin's in tray a little girl dooding on his waste paper, mentioning an important meeting with his husband only to return a good hour later looking saited and rumpled. He'd smirked at Hsin smoothing down his hair as if he was one of the kittens before leaving.
Something was going on. Something special about this bunch of interns. In his years in the company Hsin had led a few tours and been in charge of a number of recruits, Familiars included - none of whom required special attentions. The occasional kitten sitting had also become an irregular but not uncommon event. He still exchanged the odd email with the eldest Felix boy, Alexis. Who still insisted on calling him Hazy despite no longer being a kitten. It was a lot quieter around the buildings since he'd left to study.
Casting a spell for some silence Hsin did some more work on his current project before going to the eleveators to meet the interns. Only authorised persons could cast spells in the building and the new bunch were a mix of human, wizard and Familiar. The eyes that met his when the elevator arrived were both Familiar and familiar. Alexis.
Alexis had grown up into quite the handsome young man, Hsin wondered if he still liked his ears scritched, and if he still purred when his belly was rubbed. He had to shake his head to clear the thoughts and Alexis stared at him knowingly the whole time.
Remembering professional pride Hsin introduced himself and herded the interns around pointing out the places they'd need and dropping different people with their appointed supervisors. It seemed to take forever, Alexis asking pertinent questions and smiling at him throughout the whole tour. Yet in no time at all Hsin was left with the one grinning intern. ANd no more names on the hand-over sheet.
'Alexis' Hsin stood his ground and stared back, watching Alexis's throat as he swallowed hard.
'Hazy'
'It's Hsin' Hsin tried, watching as the smile grew smug.
'You've always been my Hazy though, haven't you?'
'And you have always been Trouble!'
'Your Trouble?'
Hsin closed his eyes letting himself hope. Sheila, Buster, Boo...if they'd had issue with it they'd have been very clear.
'I hope so' he whispered stepping closer to the incorigable Familiar.
'For always' Alexis promised, voice earnest and soft, but then his grin returned, sly and wicked 'I'll be the bestest, fiercest, greatest, everything for you'
'You always have been' Hsin laughed as they're lips met in a slow sweet kiss.
A throat clearing had them spin around, shooting into Hsin's office and slamming the door, magic engaging the lock.
'Wait wasn't that?'
'My dad? Yeah' Alexis leaned in for an other kiss 'He understands, I already told him you were mine'
'That confident were you?' Hsin attempted to step back but was held firm. Alexis pushed out his bottom lip, glossy and red from kisses, let it quiver and his eyes open wider. Hsin laughed at him, but gladly took the bait 'Trouble' he growled, biting the offered lip.
