Yes, he is moving back in with my mom, because he retired, and now he can't afford to pay the mortgage and the rent. He was living in my old flat, so I had to throw away a lot of my old stuff, and move the rest to my mom's or back here...
It was so weird, like Franco's wet dreams or something, like Pim said, seemed a theme park, totally fake btw. I have never seen anything like that anywhere in Spain. There are other things to life, like people going on with their lives, and wine and food and olive groves or whatever the heck is in the area. But in Arles? so strange.
There was bullfighting all over France in the 19th century, even in Lille, in the North! It was forbidden after a while then, except in Arles because it was a very strong tradition there.
Hi Marie. It was so weird, I tell you. I don't know if it was only Arles or what, I don't really know the area at all. This was like a bullfight theme park o_O very touristic oriented. Even the chairs and the walls in the breakfast room in the hotel were painted red and yellow, and flamenco playing (nothing against flamenco, but it was all looking so fake and forced?). "Spanish" restaurants and this and that everywhere, that 60's touristic image of Spain that as you know was all made up...
I really liked the city, it is a pity they haven't tried to give some light to their own tradition and music and so on, which I am sure they must have.

Why did you empty your dad's flat? Is he moving? Yes; I'm nosy. LOL.
The bullfighting references are something we're not used to seeing here in Catalonia, especially now it's been outlawed. Thank goodness.
