You're gonna be sick, but you mustn't lose faith

I had a nightmare last night that McCain/Palin shot up in a scary lead in the polls out of nowhere. Scared the shit out of me. I'm not one of those people who think Obama walks on water: of course he doesn't he's a politician. Any politician who's gotten to high places in the government has corruption stuck to their boots from the heads they had ( Read more... )

The lynch mob mentality at their rallies certainly suggests that... Seriously scary shit. O_o;

"The liberal application of chocolate."

It's a good word! It deserves to be associated with good things!

I dunno about Ron Paul, I heard from too many of his more scary supporters on the reptile forums I think. I agree with different people on different things, and sometimes I wish I could make my own Frankenstein candidate. ;P At this point, I'm more worried about McCain and them changing things for the worse than expecting Obama to change anything for the better!

Neil Gaiman is as good as tea. <3 I think I'd have a hard time going from day to day without japa. I've said to a few folks recently that japa/meditation is my anti-depressant. If a bath and a book is what's working, that too is a sacred form of finding peace. :) There's no one right way to do anything: the only right one is the one that works best in the moment!

I have those same nightmares, inspired by the large sea of McCain/Palin signs around my neighborhood.

Because of my cynicism eating my soul in the 2004 election, I've sort of needed to believe in Obama this year. He's a politician, so he's far from perfect. But I want to have hope, however fruitless as it may turn out to be.

It depends around here, on the artsy side of town where we are there's lots of Obama signs but the further east of town you go, more McCain. The vids of their rallies scare me the most, I think. It's vicious hateful mob mentalities brewing there... but McCain did have the decency to look surprised when people yelled stuff like "Kill him!" and "Terrorist! Treason!" though he didn't discourage them. Palin smiles and eats up that kind of talk... creeps me the hell out.

Obama does appeal to the best in people, where McCain appeals to the worst in them in their speeches etc. I really do hope Obama not only wins but genuinely tries to make a difference. Lord knows this country needs it! Hope is always important.

Also, that is the cutest Obama icon I have ever seen! :D
