... Gibson is a member of an ultraortodox/conservative catholic sect. They are even banned from the roman catholic church. For exaple they literally still blame the Jews for killing Christ. A belief the roman catholic church gave up a long time ago. That could be an explanation for his remarks.

There was a lot about Gibson's religious beliefs in papers around the time of The Passion of the Christ. I liked the movie but it was pretty awful to see the movie theatre full of people who would never under any circumstances come there. All the zealots and what not, just because the movie was made by a man who had similar beliefs and it was ok to go to the movies for once..

I've never seen it still, the zealot vibe can really get to me, you know? I have to admit, doing it in Aramaic impressed me but I just haven't felt compelled to see Passion myself.

And I love misheard lyrics too! Hehe... Have you seen the Fallout Boy ones? Comedy gold! Not as well done or with as good music as Nightwish, but funny anyway! Not work safe though!

My Grandmother loves Mel... she called me today to ask what had happened to him (I guess the NZ tabloids aren't good XD). I told her he'd gotten drunk, went driving, and got very agressive and started yelling about how the Jews were the root of all evil. And she kinda paused, and than goes "Well, they DID kill Jesus, and he seems very fond of Jesus."
