[Roshian had awoken, dressed, and left the room. There was nothing to strike back at, no one to attack, nothing to do but sit and wait and see what happens.
So she had gone for a walk.
It's a relief to see Luke when she gets back to the room.]
[Luke was busy fishing a spoon out of the drawer when he hears her voice, and responds by dropping the spoon with the a loud clatter.
When he looks up at her, his face is pale and his eyes are wide, almost as though he were looking at a ghost. But despite everything he was feeling right now, the last thing he wanted to do was break down in front of her.
He clears his voice, pretending nothing is wrong.]
[He nods weakly at her and smiles, right before immediately going back to what he was doing, trying to find anything to keep his mind busy. All he can seem to think about was those last moments, and that sound Roshian was making before they died...
Death wasn't something unusual in Mayfield, and while upsetting he always took comfort in the fact that it wasn't permanent. But he wasn't sure of that here, and the gruesome way they died made it all that much worse.
All he wanted to do was run out of the room and not look back, but he wouldn't. So he turns his attention back to the kettle on the stove.]
