[action] Sorry that this is so late, but I saw that no one else has gotten to this yet! kandescenceMarch 22 2011, 10:50:04 UTC
[Kanda's on the fifth floor, and judging by what he's just seen--what he's just encountered--he can guess what this call for help must be about. He's shaken but his nerves can take it. He's still thinking fast.
He grabs a leg off the broken chair in the room he's in, wraps it in the sheet from the bed, pours the last of the lamp kerosene over it and lights it before bursting out into the hall, torch in one hand and sword in the other, ready to fight off another monstrous bird like the one he's just seen.]
[The hallway is dark and the walls are smeared with blood and claw marks trail from the ceiling to the floorboards in various places. At the end of the hallway stands the shadowed figure of Izaya who has his back turned. The puddles of blood upon the floor trail all the way to where Izaya is standing, pooling under him as if he is the source. His black hair is slicked back as feathers and a few feathers hang off of his arms in various places. One arm is extended in front of him, hidden by his body. A few feathers lay flat down his back, protruding from beneath his torn jacket and the arm that is still visible houses a hand that sports long sharp nails that tiny droplets of blood fall from and join upon the floorboards. His body is covered in claw marks, two large gashes trailing down his back almost as if he was hunched over in pain at one point and then stood abruptly, dragging his claws up his back. The tan fur that once trimmed his prized jacket is now soaked a deep red. His pants and shoes for the most part remain in tact though
( ... )
[Kanda doesn't know who Kanra is anymore than he knows the identity of the human-bird hybrid standing at the end of the hall. But the flickering light of the torch he holds illuminates plenty enough, especially given what he's just seen happen to Heine.
He knows this thing will attack him. All of his senses as a fighter tell him as much. He also knows there are few routes of egress or escape from the hall. Perhaps a man less accustomed to battle would have retreated into the room from where he came. Instead he takes up a stance ready to meet the thing should it fly towards him as he calls out a warning to distract it from whatever it's doing.]
[Izaya turned to face the voice, his face smeared with blood and a seethingly unnerving grin. The hand that was outstretched and hidden behind his body now swung around with him, his clawed hand grasping the hair of a young womans head that held no body to it though no apparent blood poured from where the sever would have been. Any who had seen Izaya before would have seen him with the head of dullahan Celty Strulson but for now to anyone else it was hoped that the head was not Kanras. He began to coo it and talk to it.]
Oh? Look here! Someone has come to play with us!
[His voice is a bit raspy but lined with a shivering tone and an excited tone topped with his unnerving grin]
