Simone was dead. Here one moment, gone the next. Nathan was busy with God knows what; probably trying to save his career, and Angela...all she kept telling Peter was that he needed to be a good boy and try to work with Noah, but Bennet had been preoccupied with keeping Claire safe from that Sylar guy.

He was going to explode. He'd heard it over and ( Read more... )

Peter said his goodbyes and went with Rene, feeling a renewed sense of confidence. He could do this, he could do this, he could do this!!

Back in New York, Noah was trying to learn how be a normal guy on a rather sunny Saturday. He and Claude had taken to the park and he was currently standing at a little hot dog vendor, ordering them some lunch.

Claude was rather surprised that they hadn't gone into some underground bunker by now to escape Angela or Sylar. But he wasn't about to complain. He'd kept the gun and tazer he'd been given by the Company, and they were safely in his pocket. Besides, Noah was most probably heavily armed.

So he just waited quietly for Noah to get their food, looking around and half-enjoying the winter sun.

Noah rejoined him with two dogs and two sodas tucked under his arm, handing them to him. He knew neither Angela nor Sylar would attack in public so he fully planned on staying in busy parts of the city whenever possible. "Here you go." Noah was, indeed, heavily armed underneath his jeans, tee shirt, and jacket. Two guns, a taser, and a few syringes of sedative. Didn't hurt to be careful.

"Thanks," said Claude, taking the hot dog and soda. He was used to eating that sort of thing daily, they were rather easy to pinch from a stand.

"So, you ready to tell me more about your plans?" He'd kept quiet the previous day, letting Noah think and rest. He did want details, though, and information about Sylar. He didn't know much about the man except that he was lethal.

"Claude has been....gone. Hiding from the Company, rightfully so. He knows how important it can be to work against them sometimes. And you can trust him," Noah said. "Probably more than you can trust me." He looked over at his friend and gave him a soft smile. "He's keeping my head on straight."

Sandra looked at Claude shrewdly, but what she could see was moslty that he looked hurt. "So why were you hidin', hon?" she asked him.

"Well, I didn't like kidnapping people like me so that the Company could test them, so I started helping some of them escape," said Claude quietly. Noah's smile and comment were encouraging, that was for sure. "They found out, and they tried to have me assassinated. Didn't work."

Sandra pressed a hand to her chest. Yes, that sounded... well, she wasn't surprised that the only thing that had pried Claude away from Noah and the rest of them was danger of death.

It was time to man up. Things couldn't really get any worse between him and Sandra. "The Company talked me into shooting him, actually. It was probably the biggest mistake I've ever made working for them, and it tormented me for years. But...he's back, and we're working on our relationship, trying to keep people safe. Its like old times only I'm a bit wiser to the Company's evil."

Sandra stared at Noah for a while. This was why she was divorcing. He'd been talked into killing his best friend? He hadn't looked for an alternative? She shook her head, livid.

"If he hadn't done the job," Claude pointed out, "they might have killed him and taken Claire away. I'm pretty sure that whatever he said at the time, he was already very attached to her."

"I'm not sure how you can defend him, Claude," she growled, then turned to Noah. "And you, you'd better have gotten wiser."

Peter was tired of training, but still he forced a smile every time Thompson showed up. It was a lot to handle and Eric was....very intense....but Peter felt like he was making good progress.

Though he hadn't expected Thompson to show up late at night when he was supposed to be sleeping. Granted it was hard to sleep in these cells...maybe a visit from Thompson would be good right now. Something to break up the monotony of his routine.

"Good evening, Peter," said Thompson. "I couldn't help but notice that you weren't sleeping, so I decided to come down here and say hi."

That was sort of the truth, although it would be more accurate to say that he'd been waiting for his moment to pounce. The cameras were deactivated now, for a little while.

LOOOOL you really want to play Noah huh... medicpetrelli February 15 2011, 13:11:55 UTC
Peter sat up with a smile, tucking his hair back. "Hey. That's weird, I was just thinking about you." He blushed when he realized how creepy that sounded. "Uh, just thinking about our training, I mean."

Thompson had definitely gotten into his head. Then again, considering Peter's daddy complex, it was easy for older men to overtake his brain.

lol apparently! or maybe his username just confuses me perversemind February 15 2011, 21:33:19 UTC
Thompson smiled at him. He loved that little correction, it was exactly what made him think that Peter was ripe for the taking at this point.

"That's good," he said, casually settling down on the bed, opposite Peter. "I was alsot thinking about it, Peter, and I... well. I have a proposal that you might find a little bit bold."

Peter's hands shot out and caught Rene, his teeth gritted. Damn it Nathan. "Let me nelp you," he hissed. Over Rene's shoulder he saw the guards jumping Claire, so he narrowed his eyes and flung them back with his renewed telekinesis. "Don't you want to go home??"

Claire scrambled to her feet and ran over. "Come on Peter!!" She gave Rene an awkward but grateful look.

That was a kind thought, one he didn't deserve. It also stirred a flurry of depressing memories. René smiled, a little sadly. "I have no home, Peter. Just here. Now go before reinforcements arrive."

Nathan wasn't sure what to do, he saw that his brother was hanging on to the Haitian for some... some Peterish reason, but he didn't want to get away from the door. And he was quite right, because suddenly an alarm went off and a metallic screen started rolling down to block every entrance.

"COME ON! Peter! Claire!" he bellowed, pushing the door open and half-slipping outside. He'd be damned if he got caught in this place.

Peter looked into Rene's eyes, feeling his sorrow. He didn't want to leave the man, not at all, but it was now or never. So he took Claire's hand and ran with her do the door. Peter pushed her under the falling screen and then rolled through himself.

Together, the three of them ran away from the building and in one quick movement the Petrelli brothers took off into the air. Claire didn't know which one was holding onto her at first...she just watched the ground get farther and farther away, and then heard Peter tell her to hold on tight.

Nathan hadn't even had time to grab Claire, Peter was already flying off with her. He was very slightly jealous of his brother's strength and speed at that moment, and did his best to catch up with him. They flew for a while in silence, until Nathan gestured in a certain direction. They had a safe house set up in Colorado, far enough from the Company to prevent them from finding them in a hurry.

Claude felt awkward as they drove up to Nathan's new secret base. It probably wouldn't stay secret for long, but at least with five of them they would be relatively safe. They'd spent a while following Angela, managing to steal some information from her, narrowly escaping trouble. He supposed it was sort of exciting. Noah certainly reacted to adrenaline in good ways.

But now they were going to have to share a house with Nathan, whom he disliked, and Peter, who was his ex and definitely pissed off about how they'd parted. This wasn't going to be easy.

The house wasn't huge, but it was classy, and in warm enough climes in January not to have snow. Always a bonus. Claude sat in the car motionlessly after it had stopped, staring at the place.

Noah put the car into park and turned it off. Some dim light coming from inside was a tell-tale sign that the others had already arrived which was less than fortunate. He'd been hoping they could get there first and pick out the best bedroom.

He let Claude have his minute of silence and then clasped a hand onto his lover's thigh. "Don't wuss out on me now. It'll be bad enough that I have to watch Nathan and make sure he's not stealing my daughter away...can't keep chasing you down and bringing you back if you run off with your tail between your legs."

Claude shot him a glare. "You don't know very much about me if you think I'm going to leave you on your own with this bunch." He sighed and rubbed his face. "I just hope Peter acts like a grown up. Though from what I've seen, I shouldn't get my hopes up."

"In all fairness his witch of a mother did send him off to be molested and damaged. Anyone would be screwed up after that, especially someone unstable like Peter Petrelli." He massaged Claude's thigh soothingly. "We just have to be the responsible adults of the house. We'll go in there, act kind to everyone, and if something happens we'll let it roll off our backs."
