Simone was dead. Here one moment, gone the next. Nathan was busy with God knows what; probably trying to save his career, and Angela...all she kept telling Peter was that he needed to be a good boy and try to work with Noah, but Bennet had been preoccupied with keeping Claire safe from that Sylar guy.
He was going to explode. He'd heard it over and

"Rene!" Peter barked, skidding outside of Angela's office. "Code red! Peter's gonna blow!"

The Haitian sprang up and strode to Bennet. "If the chain reaction has begun, I cannot help him, Noah," he said. "I tried to stop Sprague in your home and could not. You need to sedate him."

Noah came up behind him and stabbed Peter in the neck with the syringe, injecting him. He ignored the pained yelped that came from the empath's mouth, pushing the stopper down all the way and flooding his veins with enough morphine to take down an elephant. Peter collapsed within a few moments, his hands fading back to normal, and Noah stepped back as he wiped some sweat from his brow. "Nothing like a Friday morning at the Company."

Nathan didn't find that particularly funny. He kept on backing away, heart racing, feeling dizzy with shock. He'd seen some action during his time in the Navy, but this... this was something else.

Angela watched in horror from down the hallway, her hand on her chest. "Rene...you stay with him at all times, do you understand me?"

"Great," snapped Nathan, still feeling more than frazzled. Now he knew what a blowing-up Peter looked like, and most of him wanted to run far, far away.

"Yes, it leaves in two hours." She still had her hand on her chest, frightened.
"Good. We'll keep him sedated for the wait, and for the plane ride." Noah glanced at Rene and then walked to a cell to put Peter down.

René nodded at Noah and followed him to the cell, settling down on the edge of Peter's bed. He might as well make himself comfortable, as he would be there for a long time.
Claude followed too, sorry for the kid. They shouldn't have called Nathan. Now that he had all the pieces of the puzzle, it seemed obvious that seeing Nathan was causing Peter to heat up with all these repressed feelings he had for his brother.

Angela turned and hugged Nathan, stroking his face as she did before pulling away. "Go back to work, dear. You can't help him."

Nathan nodded softly. "I guess... do you think he'll ever manage to control it?"

Angela pursed her lips and then shook her head. "I don't know, but I hope so. I really hope so, Nathan."

"So do I, Ma," said Nathan softly. He kissed her cheek. "All right. I've got to go." Something, some niggling feeling at the back of his mind, was telling him that it was his fault that Peter had blown up, but he tried to push it aside.

Angela squeezed Nathan's arm and nodded. "Call me tonight and I'll let you know how his flight went."
Reply
"All right," said Nathan, squeezing his mother's shoulder. "Talk to you later, Ma." With that, he left as fast as he could, hoping that work would distract him.
