Video Games...Nooooo!

Sep 17, 2007 21:27

So, I have been super busy with papers and an upcoming Writing Portfolio (everyone has to turn one in, and if you don't pass, you can't take senior exams...yikes!) Actually, let me correct that statement: I should be super busy. What I am is...preoccupied, preoccupied with video games. Naturally ( Read more... )

movies, geekishness, games

Howdy! I have no idea about any of the video games you mentioned (lol), but I just wanted to drop by and say Hi!

What movies have you been watching and your teacher has been talking through? lol

Hey hey! I should make a seperate movie geek-out post to go with my video-game one.:) I just got NetFlix again, so now I get like two movies a week, in addition to the one a week I have to watch for class. Between movies and video-games...I think me and my boyfriend are glued to the couch ( ... )

Oh yes, Rune Factory is very good. The graphics, the story-line, the gameplay..everything is an improvement over the other Harvest Moon games, that's for sure. It's a little bit more of a slow rpg than you might be used to, but it's very fun. Just be warned that it's not all fighting, you still do have to do farming, too (the slower part of the game). Still, meeting all the characters, beating all the dungeons, going fishing, learning to cook, etc...there's plenty else to do in the game, too. It gets so addictive.:)

You should definitely try it out! It's so long, but yet, it's perfect for playing in short bursts, too.

I'm jealous of your possession of Pearl. I've wanted it for a while now, but have no DS. I never bought one because I figured the Pokemon games would continue to be released for the GBA (and all I really play anymore is Pokemon as far as handhelds go). Bad figuring. I spend all of my money on books. Sigh.

How does it compare to previous Pokemon installments?

Oh man, I know your feeling. I was playing Pearl as a *cough* rom *cough* for the longest time, simply because I too refused to go and get a DS. Finally, though, I gave in. It helped that the Pearl rom was so terribly slow..it would take me like fifteen hours just to get from one town to the next.:)

Anyway, I think Pearl is actually the best of the Pokemon games so far. For me, my second favorite would have to be Pokemon Blue, but Pearl stole my heart. It just adds so many new things, it's crazy...and the fact that these new elements actually work is crazy, too. Really really fun..I haven't been able to stop playing at all. In fact, my DS is beside me as I type.:P

Thanks for the add! :) If I may ask, how did you find my LJ?

Anyways, I've played through a bit of Rogue Galaxy. I liked it but wasn't *very* impressed with it. I actually didn't feel like the battle system was anything too spectacular, but I'm also very picky.

Also bought Metroid Prime 3, now THAT'S an amazing game. I also should pick up Picross since I absolutely LOVED the original version. I've spent my last week playing Hotel Dusk and Elite Beat Agents instead of studying >_>

I believe I learned about your blog through a recommendation on one of the communities I visit (gamers or gamergirls, perhaps). They just said you had well-written reviews and kept an interesting blog, so I decided to check it out.:)

The more I play of Rogue Galaxy, the more my excitement over the game starts to wear off. I still love the battle system, but the story...I've spent the first five hours looking for some fruit, before running into a bunch of tribesmen who *shock* believe in a Sun God and also in ritualistic sacrifice. The plot is just very very cliche and the dialogue is terribly awkward. It makes it hard to stick with the game...

You should definitely pick up Picross, though. I can't stop playing. It's a pretty decent challenge. Between that and Pokemon, I am completely sold on the DS.

What is Hotel Dusk? I seem to remember reading about it...is it that mystery game or something?

Heh, and I have gotten no studying done either. Ah well.

Oh dear, it's ridiculous. And I just went and got Zelda: Phantom Hourglass today. Gah, you would think I actually had money from buying all these games, but nooo...minimum wage all the way.:) Love your icon, btw! Spider man is my favorite super hero..
