So recently, I went to see Ratatouille with my mom. Before I went, I was a little wary, because this is about the fifth kid's movie this year involving cute animals that talk. Hollywood is soo original. Except not ( Read more... )

Hahaha, only satan could not like cookies.;) I like cookies too-we are such unique individuals in this world! But seriously, I can't believe you watch cooking shows too! I still feel like such a premature grandma or something-but they are awesome. Rachel Ray just explains her recipes in such a way that they aren't too hard to follow, especially for a beginning cook like me. I also just like watching the stuff she creates.:)

As for Iron Chef, that's on Food Network right? Is that the one where it's all these Japanese chefs in ridiculous outfits cooking seafood? I think I remember seeing it once or twice-it looked just crazy enough for me to get addicted to it easily too.:)

And what is 30 minute meals?

Well, they're not all Japanese. Like, it's a Japanese television show, but there's like these different culture chefs (Chinese, Japanese, French, and occasionally Italian) and they're challenged by different people, and they have to cook the secret ingredient. Yeah. I have lame explanations, so here is the site.

This is 30 Minute Meals. It's Rachel Ray's show where she makes an entire meal within thirty minutes. It's cool. I like her morning show, too.

I went to see Ratatouille with my nieces a month or so ago. I have to say, for a kids' movie it was actually pretty nice--I'm not necessarily rushing to get the DVD--but it's certainly a relaxing film to watch with the young'uns.

Glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, I'm not much of a kids' movie person myself at all, but I thought it was really good. There aren't many movies that can be enjoyed by everyone of different ages, you know?

It just seems so effortlessly good...It doesn't do anything revolutionary, I admit, but yet, it takes all those old elements and uses them so well...

I'm just glad there is finally another kids' movie that doesn't suck. I wish other Disney's/other studios' kid movies could learn from what Brad Bird does. I mean, even if you don't love "Ratatouille", you have to admit it's better than other recent kid films like "Over the Hedge", "Meet the Robinsons", "Happy Feet" and "Surf's Up" (the last two are the reason I now HATE penguins.)

I'm not sure what was with Hollywood's earlier obsession with penguins, do you? "March of the Penguins'" success seemed to spark the fanaticism. I was a little surprised when "Happy Feet" came out, but I knew that they had jumped off the deep end after the release of "Surf's Up." I mean, come on, penguins that SURF?

Then again, I guess dancing penguins aren't really anymore feasible, are they?

Hahaha, I'd rather dancing penguins than surfing penguins. I mean, the whole idea of penguins in Hawaii in general...

Though it's a tough choice. Either surfing penguins or a penguin that dances and has Robin Williams' voice. Egh.

Oh wow, I can't even begin to describe it. It just is a mix of so many different genres and stuff-it's like Disney copied every last thing they could have from several different sources and then threw it all together.

It's like 1/4 sci-fi, 1/4 Meet the Brady Bunch, 1/4 Honey I Shrunk the Kids, and 1/4 Jimmy Neutron. So effin' wierd. I've never seen anything like it...only watched it for around thirty minutes, but it made my brain hurt. The movie is more hyperactive than a toddler. Gahs!
