It would particularly amusing if The Islands Of Terror was set in the early twenty-first century, and involved a sequence in which the Doctor, as noble and diplomatic as ever, attempted to negotiate peace between two warring native tribes only to have his efforts thwarted by a short bearded man in bare feet rushing out to scream: "YOU IDIOT IT'S ONLY A MOVIE DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH MONEY YOU'VE JUST WASTED?!"

An intergalatic incident is side-stepped only by the Doctor's sheepish: "...er...Time Machine?"
