I've added you to my friends list, and I look forward to reading your fics. I'm somewhat new to the world of fanfic, myself, though I recently took the plunge and starting posting a PotC2 Norrington fic on the jack_norrington community. It's nerve wracking! LOL.

Hi and welcome :D

I started posting fic over a year ago now and I’d love to tell you it gets easier but I still get incredibly nervous in that time between posting and the first review.

I was totally on edge before posting, since my fic is OFC (originally I thought it was "Mary Sue", but I was corrected), and I know some "hardcore" ficcers really frown on such.

Half my PotC fics have been from an OFC’s perspective and neither have had complaints. I think PotC is not half as bad as Harry Potter since there are less female characters in Pirates and the fandom is mindful of it and so won’t complain too much if they are well written and believable. The problem is trying to get people to read the fic in the first place to realise that.
