It's been good TV news week:

1. There is a kickstarter campaign for an Inspector Spacetime web series (it's over 40% there already), which, delightfully, was launched at a Doctor Who convention.

2. Community will be back! Wooooooo!!!!! Six seasons and a movie!

3. the trailer for Season two of The Almighty Johnsons was released, and she show ( Read more... )

television, community, once upon a time

I'm with you on everything you said about Once Upon a Time. Rumple is not a good guy, he's a self-interested guy. I'm more ambivalent about August--we just don't know enough about him. I wonder if there's something in the fact that he says he's a writer, if he has some connection to the original creation of the book or something.

Yes, we don't know what Rumple's up to, but it's pretty much guaranteed it's his best interest he has at heart and noone else's. I think he is connected to the book, but Regina also recognizes him from somewhere so he's probably connected to fairytale land as well. Clearly, whatever his connection, like Emma and Henry, he's not affected by the curse.

I watch Once Upon a Time! I just haven't had chance to talk about it a lot on my LJ - I have quite a few people on my flist who LOVE it though. But they are all obsessed with Gold or Gold/Belle (not that I'm not above that particular story because if gives Gold a lot of depth but the guy is still Not To Be Trusted)

Yay, glad I'm not the only one still watching. Yes, Gold cannot be trusted. His motives are not know, and his methods are rather horrible. That story did show that he had a heart still and gave him layers, but really, it was quite damning as well in that he chose power over love.

One of the things I love about the fandom, or at least the part of it I see at OUATtheories on Tumblr, is that a number of Regina/Emma shippers really believe it could happen. It just makes me happy that it's treated (by some) as just another ship, rather than omg we're so daring for slashing the lead and the villain!!1

As someone who completely fell in love with Rumpelstiltskin/Belle (what can I say, I love angsty romances) I started out loling at people on Tumblr who think they're the most important characters on the show and his motives are always pure, and I ended up unfollowing the fyeah blog associated with the pairing because it got obnoxious. :(

I like the idea I've seen put forth that Regina beginning to truly love Henry will be instrumental in breaking the curse.

Oh, I love Regina/Emma. I think the ship arises out of the 'Henry has two moms' dynamic between them rather than the foe!yay dynamic between them so that's why it's treated as just another ship. Damn, I want it to happen though. And Emma is supposed to be the curse breaker and true loves kiss breaks any curse...I'll never happen because is a US network show, but I can dream.

Rumple/Belle has become totally overblown considering it's had one episode about it. It happened with Emma/Graham as well (sure that had more episodes but it was only a big thing in one episode). It's kind of amusing at the moment, although, it kind of pisses me off when they argue that Rumple is deserving of love and Regina isn't. Either they both are, or they both aren't, they're as bad as each other. And I do wonder how they will take it if the Regina is the Miller's Daughter theory turns out be true.

I like that idea as well. I'm hoping that the season is going to end with Regina doing something to prove she loves Henry.

Oh, yes. I wouldn't be able to stand her in real life, but she sure as hell is great to watch. I have loved her arc so far, going from one-note alpha bitch to showing her vulnerable side and having her slowly integrate with the group and becoming able to stand up to her friends. I'm definitely going to have to watch Angel now, just for her.
