Why Don't We Let Britta Sing Her Awkward Song

Dec 11, 2011 14:50

I'm so very very tired right now. Spent the past two weeks running around a lot. I need a holiday.

Anyway, I have thoughts about stuff:

Noooo! Community, don't leave me! Name another show on television with a Doctor Who joke that has now spanned nine episodes, that breaks out into random anime and decides to mash up Glee with Invasion of the ( Read more... )

I loved that bit. Particularly with the cat. I'm very used to having to hang baubles outside of cat range.

1) JEFF/SHIRLEY IS SO HOT.
2) THANK GOD.

"I hope we have reached the point where the 'you are the worst' Britta jokes will start to abate."

I really fucking hope so. I want some of that dignity she had in the first season back (I loved her from the pilot and thought she was funny while being awesome and without having to be torn down). I love that she can be a big goof, but its skewed so much in the direction of trashing her, and it's done to her far more than it is done to anyone else, that I really don't find it funny.

I've recently gotten into Jeff/Shirley, as the above attests, and while that makes me screechier, I've always been very fond of Jeff/Britta -- despite myself, as early on I was like NO JEFF YOU DO NOT GET BRITTA AFTER TRYING TO CON HER, but then they both had the same sarcastic "it has arrows, that's safe!" reaction to the Human Being, and then they started not only teasing each other a lot, but -- this is IMPORTANT, it's the difference between them and an annoyingly antagonistic friendship -- laughing when teased ( ... )

While I like that to an extent Britta being a goof is her having loosened up around the group, at the same time, yes, I miss her dignity. They've gone too far in the one direction, and they need to pull it back again ( ... )

There's an extent of her goofiness that I explain as having loosened up, and that's fine, and my problem isn't the goofiness so much as it is her being the resident laughingstock. To the point where they even take time out to knock her even when she's not doing anything stupid.

'you should totally bang that kid's mom'

SHE READ HIS MIND. XD

Community was awesome this week. That is all.

Also, I want more Sheriff in Once Upon a Time. Not because he's hot (although he isn't difficult on the eyes), but because he's so underdeveloped and the show is trying to emphasise that he is important but I don't know anything about him so I find it hard to care. What is his fairytale story? (does he have one? or am I just too dumb to have figured it out yet?)

I know that this weeks episode is going to be about him. He may become a more interesting character with a bit of focus.

Love your icon, BTW.

Having now just seen the latest episode, I'd have to agree he has become interesting!

Thank you :)

Hmm, I'm not sure if I would count Abed as asexual, what with the plotline in last seasons Valentine's episode with him and Troy competing over the librarian, and he seemed to like that secret service agent a lot. But then, he could just be going through the motions because it's what he's seen characters do on TV and not because he's actually interested in having a sexual relationship. It's a tough one to call. But I'd totally love for the show, or any show really, to have an asexual character, who yes, isn't a murderer.

I completely agree with you about Britta. And I think it's hilarious that you're shipping Jeff/Britta, now that the show has toned down the big shipteasing. :D

I feel like the Sheriff has to be someone unexpected, either because his fairy tale version is bad (the wolf) or minor (the huntsman).

ALSO. I just want to note that I typed that comment up last night, before I even saw the title of the latest episode on Hulu today.
