Doctor Who and Tron

OMG Doctor Who! I loved it. It may actually be the best Christmas episode the show has done (although, it cannot best The Runaway Bride in my affection). I may have cried a bit at the end. Michael Gambon does a great Scrooge, nearly as good as Michael Caine. And ( spoilers )

new who, movies

Doctor Who was COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS and I loved it anyway. Eleven is just that awesome. I could have done with more Amy and Rory and less of ethereal blonde woman dying from vague illness that no one ever bothered to find out what it was to see if maybe a cure was ever developed, because the Doctor's fucked with the timeline this much so he may as well take it a step or two more, but WHATEVER new Doctor Who on my computer midwinter is always welcome.

That trailer blew the entire special out of the water, though. Series six is going to be incredible. I bet the bits with - I don't know, were those scribbles? suture scars? (don't answer, I prefer to speculate) were from the Neil Gaiman ep.

I watched Tron and Tron Legacy a couple days ago! So much interesting character interaction so badly squandered in the sequel, sigh. And DNW youngified Jeff Bridges, eek. But damn, the movie as a whole was so pretty even I noticed, and that usually flies over my head. (I was desperately bored during Avatar.) I'm almost sorry I just ( ... )

Oh, I do wish they had bothered to give ethereal blonde's disease a made up name and have the Doctor got 'oooh, that is incurable' - it makes all the difference (well, for me at least), cos it shows that at least the Doctor gave it a moment's thought.

I've been avoiding spoilers and have no idea if the sutures are from the Neil Gaiman episode, but I would bet good money that they are (and Amy kind of reminded me of Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas with that look). Oh, I am so looking forward to season six.

I wish Tron Legacy's writing was as good as the gorgeous visualsm (it seemed so generic), it is so, so pretty though and the comparison with the original does show how far SFX have come, and I'm quite glad I saw it on the big screen (saw it in 2D through, not 3D, but then I think 3D's overrated)

(although, I have a bad feeling about what's going to happen to Amy and Rory and I don't want bad things to happen to them)

D: D: D: NEITHER DO I. I LOVE THEM. Whenever they leave, I want them to be 1) together, 2) not dead, and 3) content.

Can I adopt your criteria? Because that's what I want their ending to be like as well. (I love those two so much, if Moffatt pulls and RTD, I will be so pissed - I am still not over what happened to Donna).
